Due to Technical Difficulties (I forgot to post an interview), we kinda skipped last week. So, here is another installment of On the Hot Seat with HT. Our victim, I mean guest, this week is canadaluvsdalla...
To start with, tell us your first name...
| canadaluvsdalla wrote: | | Akshay, my friends just call me Shay. |
So, Shay, I assume you live in Canada, yes?
| Quote: | | Yes, in Toronto to be exact. |
And how old are you?
| Quote: | 19 (Yes I'm legal enough to drink alchohol over here) |
Holy Crap! Being 37 makes me old enough to be your dad. Thanks for making me feel old. Being a young guy, I guess you haven't been a Cowboys fan for all that long, correct?
| Quote: | | I started watching the NFL in the 2007 playoffs, and my very first game I watched was the Seahawks Vs. Cowboys. Just for some reason I liked the cowboys in that game and was pretty much cheering them on the entire time. It was a tough way to start out my cowboy fanhood at the end of that game, but I don't regret being a Cowboy fan one bit. |
Yeah, the end of that game still irks me. Seattle did something screwy with that ball, I will believe that until the die I die. I give you credit for sticking with the Cowboys. Besides cheering for a team that breaks your heart, what do you do with your free time?
| Quote: | I usually take 1 month trips over the summer in my vacation time with my girlfriend to travel to third-world countries such as India( where I was born and visited last year) to help out with the red cross youth volunteer program. Used to do this every year during highschool but I hardly have any money left right now after my Tuition expenses.
Heres a painful experience from one those visits right after I finished my freshman year:
 |
That camel looks really uncomfortable. You mentioned a girlfriend, which leads me to my next question. What is your marital/relationship status?
| Quote: | In a relationship with my girlfriend since freshman year of Highschool |
Any kids?
| Quote: | Not currently but in the future definately. |
Yeah, I kinda figured that. I'm actually glad though. If you had a kid, that would make me old enough to be a grandpa and that would ruin my day. So, when not traveling the world or hanging out with your GF, what do you do? You gotta job or are you in school?
| Quote: | Full-time University Student and weekend worker. |
Yeah, I did the fast food thing while I was in school. I wasn't loving it. After working there for a while, I got so tired of smelling that stuff that I wouldn't even feed it to my dog. Speaking of which, do you have any pets?
| Quote: | | Never did, mostly because my whole family including me are allergic to them, but when start my life after university I would love to get a Husky. |
Those are beautiful dogs, especially when they have blue eyes. Back to football, who is your favorite current player? And your all-time favorite player?
| Quote: | | Currently has to be Sean Lee, just his overall demeanor about the game gives me a de ja vu of all the elite linebackers that have donned a cowboy's jersey in the past , and my all-time favorite player in the NFL has to be Brian Dawkins. |
Lee is a popular choice among Cowboys fans. He is everything you want in a player and there are a lot of things to like about Brian Dawkins, even if he ws an Eagle for much of his career. I would've loved for him to be a Cowboy when he was in his prime. The guy was a leader both on the field and in the locker room. Alright, last question. Which do you prefer: beer, fruity drinks or something else?
| Quote: | I love vodka, but I hardly ever drink because I have a severe inability to handle even a few bottles. |
Bottles? You may only be 19, but I bet you have the liver of a 35 year old. Thanks for participating Shay. Join me next week for another installment of On the Hot Seat with HT (unless I forget to post the interview again). _________________

Thanks Star. Funny story about that, I started highschool right around the "depression". I actually tried to go through the government first but at that time they pretty much shutdown or lowered the funds they were giving to the charity programs, so they recommended me to the red cross foundation.
and HT wanted me to answer one more question for you guys.
| Quote: | | How did you come up with your screen name? |
Canada has a pretty strong solid base of cowboy fans outside the U.S. next to Mexico. I was intending to type in Canadaluvsdallas. BUT the s went over the letter limit so it ended up being Canadaluvsdalla(which the NFL gen section gives me hell for). _________________

As a fellow Canuck I can tell you hockey is in our blood. We have been recognizing the 40th anniversary of the summit series between Canada and Russia. Peter King commented re the winter olympics in Vancouver that he had never experienced any sporting event like the gold medal men's hockey game. Our whole country shut down to watch it. Air Canada experienced its' longest non technical/mechanical flight delay in Vancouver when passengers refused to leave the bars and board their flights as the game went into overtime. In the States I would wager you would get a much more even split between baseball, football, and basketball as to which one is your favourite sport. No contest in Canada. _________________ Northland |

Not fully applicable but I don't feel like making a new one. Last two panels count.
