Alshon has the look of a very good player and I love the way he came back from some early drops to put together key first downs when we needed them.

What has bothered me most about Jay is that he does not seem as comfortable, protection aside, from putting balls deep in good situations.

A couple times in Green Bay he got Alshon in lose 1 on 1 down the sideline but did not throw the ball.

Against the Rams we only really saw a couple of shots down the field.

At worse a long bomb overthrown gets into the DC head and into the secondaries head and provides a threat. Against the Cowboys I would have more faith in Jeffery and Marshall and when they blitz or attack just lose one on the sideline. Even if we complete 1/4 that could be the big play that wins the game.

Be an intelligent risk taker.
Jay just completely missed Alshon in the GB game. He got frustrated w/ the lack of protection and kept trying to force it to Marshall b/c he was looking for the guy he trusts the most to bail him out...then he watched the film, take a look at this

http://chicagofootballtalk.com/videos/alshon-jeffery-was-so-open-it-hurts

After watching tape Jay realized how open Alshon was all game and commented about it on Waddle & Silvy. He recognized his fault and made a correction this week against the Rams. As to not taking shots down the field this week, I'm relatively certain a lot of that was due to the gameplan and down to go situations they were in.

This is why I would start by pounding the ball at the DL to soften them and then look downfield when in the right spots. 2nd and short is the perfect time to take a shot down the field. A quick change is also a great time to do it.

Awesome video, hopefully the bears capitalize on this next time we face the packers and Jay doesn't have tunnel vision.

I'm going to thoroughly enjoy this weeks breakdown. Kellen Davis will be this week's featured skill position player, complete w/ blocking.

Well I put it up about 10x last week, Jay is always outstanding on MNF. He didn't disappoint again this week completing 75% of his passes for over 10 ypa 2/ TDs. The confidence was there, the comfort was there, this is the Jay we hope we get every week. I was shocked when I saw we had 2 7-step drops in a row. The rest of the NFL doesn't want to see this Jay Cutler.

Davis really had an up and down game. A lot of good blocks, but quite a few bad ones too. He made up for the drop by making some clutch catches especially the one where he essentially took away an INT from the defender, and the rub that he ran to free Marshall was a thing of beauty. He has to get more consistent b/c he can be a major weapon if he is.

Jay was even better in this game than what the stats show. Now 9-1 in the last 10 games. He's making quick decisions, spreading the ball around and not just locking in on Marshall.

Marshall is an absolute Beast. We all had to catch our breaths when he held is leg early in the game, but that quickly subsided when he came back on the field 2 plays later. The only criticism I have is that he probably needs to turn the ball upfield immediately after the catch rather than running east/west, but really, I'm just nitpicking. 15 days is such a long time to wait for another game.
