This should be even more fuel to the fire to get the real refs back in place. |
This is on the NFL not the replacement refs
Its no bigger than the David Boston/Byron Boston situation. |
But wouldn't you think that the replacement ref wold have enough credibility to alert the NFL that he was a Saints fan. The replacement ref, and potentially all the replacements in general have lost credibility because this guy failed to alert the NFL that he was a big time Saints fan. What's not do say that this hasn't already happened with last week's games?
It's really on both parties. _________________

It's more on the official. I officiate high school and college football and I block off all teams at both levels that I am associated with. Even though I would be fair and unbiased, it save the official of post game ridicule. |

refereegate?
I'm kind of surprised the NFL didn't do this kind of background check with the refs. They could have made this alot easier on themselves. _________________

They claim they did.
Obviously they lied. |

I hope you're just trying to make a joke. I know you know enough about the NFL that you wouldn't suggest the Saints are the ones who picked the refs. The problem is, there are other people out there who are hell-bent on turning everything into a conspiracy, and they'll see your post and run with it. _________________

| This is directed towards the regular referees and league in general, but who cares if the refs are fans of certain teams? If these refs cant be fair and impartial for 3 hrs on sunday then they shouldn't be refs in the NFL. |

And there's nothing to say this guy wouldn't have been impartial. But if there are guys who can replace him, why risk a potential controversy by having him ref in a game where he is a fan of 1 of the teams? _________________

To me it's seems there might situations in the playoffs etc where by the league trying to put it's best foot forward it actually compromises the level of refereeing by having to disqualify a 'fan' ref who is their highest rated ref that year. |

Hey, I know this might shock you, but these guys clearly shouldn't be refs in the NFL. |
