This film certainly deserves its own thread.

Cuaron could coax a good performance out of a block of mouldy cheese. Have faith. _________________

Last film I think I saw in IMAX was Avatar. Def going to see this in IMAX. Not sure about 3-D but if there's a film to see in that format, this is it. _________________

Although the first trailer has audible explosions in it, Cuarón has confirmed that scenes in space will be silent: "They put in explosions in the trailer. As we know, there is no sound in space. In the film, we don't do that."

nothing worse than turning science based outer space films in to old, loud shoot 'em up westerns. _________________

You mean in outer space there isn't music composed by John Williams playing in the background?
And I thought space was fun.... |

I don't like Bullock or Clooney as the leads. But this movie needs big names in hopes of making a profit. _________________

Budget is around 80 million. It should easily break that world wide. Plus, if it gets the Academy Award nomination that most think it will, it will be re-released around award season, and it will make a lot more from people that either didnt know about it, or didnt give it a chance the first go round.
Most of you know Im a little excited for this movie _________________

bigger names were actually attempted first, Clooney and Bullock were later choices instead of:
Robert Downey Jr
Angelina Jolie
Marion Cotillard
Natalie Portman
Scarlett Johansson
Blake Lively

Blake Lively | And with the possible exception of Lively [who's capable, but I just don't see her as an astronaut], every single one would've been a better choice than Bullock. _________________
