Amen to that. Last year, we ranked 31st in the league with a 28.11% conversion rate and we sit at 30% now. I'd be happy being middle of the pack this year.

Sometimes playcalling has a lot to do with our 3rd down percentage. That kind of hurts us on 3rds, we seem to have a lot of 3rd and longs.

So far Alex has a rating of 145.4 against the blitz. With 2 tds and almost 90 percent completion rate. So far so good. Very Happy

Hoping to see quite a few of them on Sunday.

How is the Vikings' O-line, anyway? With the efficiency of Ponder right now, I'd have to assume it's pretty good. No one has 75% completion, no interceptions, and a 110 QBR if they're being hurried or pressured all the time.

Looking at NFL.com's stats, it looks like he's been sacked 6 times so far and fumbled twice(lost the ball both times).

Our CB metrics

Chris Culliver:

Targets 5
Completions 2
Yards 20
PDs 1
1 penalty

(Played 89.1% of the snaps)

Carlos Rogers:

Targets 13
Completions 7
Yards 65
PDs 2
2 penalties

(Played 99.3 of the snaps)

Tarell Brown:

Targets 11
Completions 9
Yards 144
PDs 1
0 penalties

(Played 99.3% of the sanps)

Chris Culliver has been absolutely lights out allowing only 10 yards per game while playing most of the game. He was lined up against Jordy Nelson and Greg Jennings plenty in the first game and saw some of Megatron in week 2. I said in the offseason he will be our #1 CB in a year or two and he's been the best so far. Carlos Rogers is playing the nickle spot and doing a damn good job himself. He got called for a weak PI penalty against the Packers but has gotten the job done. Tarell Brown's metrics look bad but in part it was due to Rodgers having A LOT of time on some of the passes he allowed. Then on another one bad tackling by the team led to James Jones breaking out a 49 yard catch. Still, I expect him to step it up soon and have the type of season he had in the last nine weeks of last year.

CB metrics after week 3

Chris Culliver:

Targets 11
Completions 4
Yards 30
PDs 2
2 penalties (1 face mask)
Completion % 36.4
YPA 2.72

Carlos Rogers:

Targets 19
Completions 12
Yards 123
PDs 2
3 Penalties
Completion % 63.1
YPA 6.47

Tarell Brown:

Targets 17
Completions 14
Yards 207
PDs 1
0 Penalties
Completion % 82.3
YPA 12.4

Culliver is continuing to play ridiculously well but Brown and Rogers need to pick it up. Brown is giving too much cushion and Rogers is getting beat by slot WRs.

Obviously without the MNF game, our defense ranks 5th in passing yards allowed, 5th in rushing yards allowed, and 4th in ppg allowed. If you take away the punt return we allowed, our PPG allowed goes down from 16.2 to 14.75.

Our WPG is 0,75. Prorated over a full season, it gives us 12-4. Oh... forgot to mention... WPG stands for "Wins per game". Only stat that truly matters!

We'll win ugly more often than not. Chasing dreamy stats is nice, but probably won't happen. Except maybe Aldon's sack total. That's the one individual stat I think can get us excited.
