Aww, I was Jonesing for some more puns.
But you're right.

Yeah it's pretty insane. Thing is, this might be Florence's last season (he's 32 and probably playing on a veteran minimum contract). I guess his thought is that he would rather go out playing rather than on a reserve list.
I like this new pseudo-IR thing. I guess you can only tab one player, though. I think the NFL needs more of this stuff, kind of like MLB with its 15-day, 30-day, 60-day DL. Having to lose a player for the season because they suffer an 8-week injury early in the year is kind of ridiculous to me, considering they'd still be able to play the second half of the season. _________________

I did that once into the ocean on vacation. Cut my foot on some coral Reiff. I don't reccommend it. |

Hopefully you spent the rest of that vacation relaxing on the beach and soaking up the sun's Raiolas. _________________

I banged out this Young girl last night and now my Johnson won't stop itching. I probably shouldn't have done anything when I saw Broyles down there. _________________ Its only a matter of time until Hockey Town USA is rocking again!

I think it also has an indirect purpose of exposing teams who try to use IR as a means of stashing young players with minor injuries. Young player tweaks his hamstring. Says he's fine. Team doesn't want to risk losing him, but doesn't think he'll contribute as a rookie, so they place him on season-ending IR, with no one currently on IR-to-return status. League questions severity of injury in relation to IR designation.
I agree that they need more of this stuff. I think it's good for the league. _________________

This one's going a bit far I think. I don't mind that the thread's gotten LoJacked with puns, but this one oversteps the rules.
Besides, it's probably just a mild Stafford infection. Just get some penicillin and it'll be all Osgood.

Can't they still do that if they want? It's just nice that they don't have to. _________________

Rumor is that is what NE did with Demps. Not 100% sure how accurate the rumor is though. _________________

That's absolutely what they did, no question in my mind. He had an MRI that revealed he's basically fine. The league can apparently investigate and give him an independent physical, but they almost never do that. It's just the Patriots being the Patriots.
It's not like we didn't do the same thing with Drew Stanton when he was a rookie, though. He had a knee scope in the middle of preseason and for some reason it landed him on IR so we could keep both JT O'Sullivan and Dan Orlovsky. _________________
