I don't know where to really place Amerson as far as FS's. Reid is at the top of my list, and Jefferson is second. I have to watch more of McDonald . Amerson has to show more toughness. If he can show that this season, hes going to be a first rounder. His ball hawking ability will be compared a lot to Ed Reed's, and his stock will sky rocket. _________________

Amerson can just be set back deep to lessen his need to come back. Play CF like Thomas or Weddle, but even more so since those two are sound tacklers. |

Haven't had a chance to update my safety board, but right now McDonald is ahead of Lester. I think both are more of second round values than really worth first round picks. Right now, I've only got two safeties, Tony Jefferson (FS) and Eric Reid (SS) worth first round picks. FWIW, I think Lester is a better safety prospect than Mark Barron whom I thought was a third round pick that got drafted WAY too high by the Buccaneers. |
You think Reid is a SS?
McDonald is a good second round prospect, but over aggressive.
Agree on Lester, I think he's a better prospect and I may not take Lester round 1. |
McDonald has actually been less aggressive this year, although not involved in as many plays... _________________

Lester is a good prospect t but I have to laugh at many who think he's better than Barron. Barron was all over the place great tackler and just had a nose for the football.
Lester is a very solid player. But he benefited from Barron not better |

Barron also had SIGNIFICANT issues in coverage. Quite frankly, I'm not sure he's any different than Roy Williams. Personally, I prefer my safeties to be more capable in coverage than in run support. _________________

Not sure if he was mentioned already or not, but what do you guys think about Iowa senior Micah Hyde as a potential college cornerback/NFL safety prospect? _________________

I haven't watched alot of film on Micah Hyde but from the limited stuff I've seen he projects as a future FS/SS or zone coverage CB. He plays stiff, not elite athleticism, and a bit slow for the NFL level of play. |

Yeah, that's why I think he has a shot at making a bigger impact as a safety at the NFL level. Also, I believe he has played FS for the Hawkeyes as well. _________________
