| As a Titans fan, it's looking more and more like Chris Johnson's days in Tennessee may be coming to an end. If we do cut/trade him I think we'd select a RB in the draft in the mid/late rounds of the draft. With that being said, who are some RB's that'll most likely be mid to late round selecions(3rd round or later), that has starting potential as a NFL RB? My choice is Stepfan Taylor but, I think he could become a second round pick. All input is welcomed. |

Here are some under rated running back prospects who have impressed so far:
Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina (rounds 2-4)
Cierre Wood, RB, Notre Dame (rounds 3-5)
Le'Veon Bell, RB, Michigan State (rounds 2-4)
Rex Burkhead, RB, Nebraska (rounds 4-6)
Ray Graham, RB, Pittsburgh (rounds 3-5)
Stepfan Taylor, RB, Stanford (rounds 3-5)
Andre Ellington, RB, Clemson (rounds 2-3)
Christine Michael, RB, Texas A&M (rounds 4-6)
Hope this helps |

I'm going real low for my sleeper. Your probably not going to hear about this guy until preseason next year.
Donald Russell - Running Back - Georgia State University - 5'11 212lbs
This kid is a really good back who is getting screwed in the offense. He is averaging 6.3 yards a carry. At least 90% of his carries are from single back formation. He transferred from Kentucky U. If he would get more carries in a offense that use a fullback, he could be a good back on the next level. _________________

| The best backs in the 3rd - Late Rounds are Stephan Taylor, Kniles Davis, Le'Veon Bell, and Giovanni Bernard. If I were the Titans I would go for a bruiser, as Locker looks like he can make the big plays, which puts less pressure on the RB. All they need is someone to chug a few yards, and set up play action. |

Personally, I like Branden Oliver and Spencer Ware late. Branden Oliver is a tiny little pocket hercules runner, really quick back. Spencer Ware is just a super physical runner, he reminds me of good Marion Barber.
And I'm very interested in seeing Washaun Easley. |

I don't think CJ is the problem in Tennessee. I think it's your interior o-line. Should look to upgrade there before bailing on CJ. _________________

It's a combination of both. Besides, why bother running inside anyway, just run off tackle or pull a guard. |

The problem is, that CJ is the second highest paid RB(I think?) in the league. While our interior o-line is definitely bad and will need to be adressed, CJ's being paid too much to only have 45 rushing yards through 3 games while averaging only 1.4 ypc. And when he does get into space, he doesn't make anyone miss. He just doesn't appear to have "it" anymore. The season's still young and I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong. However, through 3 games (plus most of last year) he looks like an average RB.
BTW, thanks for all the input guys. |

Mike Dyer if he comes out is still the most gifted RB in the draft. He would probably fall into the middle rounds because of his checkered past.
I like Oliver, Ware, Taylor, and Curtis McNeal too. |

A lot of good ones have been stated, I'll add another one to the list:

Chris Thompson, RB, FSU
He somehow looks even better than he did before he broke his back. He's solid all-around. Solid speed, solid power, solid agility, solid pass-catcher, etc. He's on the small side at only 5'8", 190 lbs., but I think he can be a premiere back-up, 3rd down back, and occasional starter in the NFL. As long as his back checks out then I would love him on the Titans.
He reminds me of Brian Westbrook, but I don't think he could be featured like Westbrook was in his prime. _________________

| With how tentative knile davis has looked so far since his injury (granted some blame belongs to the terrible OL) it wouldn't surprise me if dennis johnson does better in the NFL. Really wish we'd get him more touches. |
