After erupting for 153 rushing yards in Sunday's victory over Arizona, Peterson has 652 rushing yards this season, third best in the league. Only Houston's Arian Foster (659) and Washington's Alfred Morris (658) have done more damage.

Hard as it may be to fathom, Peterson is currently on pace to rush for 1,490 yards, which would register as his second-best season behind the 1,760 yards he posted in 2008.

The most yards from scrimmage Peterson has ever had through eight games was 1,242 back in his rookie year of 2007. He enters Thursday's contest with 787 total yards (652 rushing and 135 receiving). Peterson never has had fewer than 800 total yards through the first eight games of a season.

Can he? Absolutely. He might already be the lock for comeback player of the year (even though he didn't really even have a horrible year last year).

With the proliferation of passing offenses, we might see 1500 yds win the the rushing title, whereas for most of the last 10-15 years, it's typically taken 1700 or 1800 yds to win it.

He is also on pace to have his best season as a receiver.

2007 - 19 catches, 268 yards, 1 TD
2008 - 21 catches, 125 yards, 0 TDs
2009 - 43 catches, 436 yards, 0 TDs
2010 - 36 catches, 341 yards, 1 TD
2011 - 18 catches, 139 yards, 1 TD
2012 - 22 catches, 135 yards, 0 TDs (through 7 games)

That is going to belong to Peyton Manning, whether he deserves it (I think he does so far) or not.

That certainly could happen...it seems they like QBs better anyway. The last RB to get it was McGahee in '04. Since then, it's been 5 QBs, a DE, and a split vote between a LB and a WR (Steve Smith and Tedy Bruschi in '05). Who knows, we may end up with a split vote again.

It would be quite an amazing feet to have Peterson go from torn ACL/MCL in the second to last game of the 2011 season, to rushing leader in 2012.

I would just like to see him get in the endzone more than he has this season. Maybe get him involved in a few more screen passes.

How super human is Adrian Peterson? Forced more missed tackles than any other player in NFL with 29.

However Peterson doesn't lead tackles evaded per touch. That belongs to Percy Harvin who averages a missed tackle for every 2.8 touches
