[Suggestion] Increase the visibility of the PM Inbox!

Hello!

I'm writing here to suggest that the visibility of the links towards the top of the page be increased. It's becoming apparent to me that many people don't check whatever email they have attached to their FF accounts, which leaves the chances of them reading a PM someone sends them at the liberty of the chance they look towards the top of the screen.

The links at the top of the screen are not very visible, causing PMs to often go unread. This is especially unfavorable when it comes to time-sensitive PMs, as in the case of GM Mock Drafts, where each pick is assigned a time slot.

If you're looking to trade back, and your trade partner doesn't read his PMs, you could be stuck drafting in a spot where you really didn't want to (yes, this did happen to me, and yes, this is why I'm making this suggestion).

I feel that this would be a pretty easy fix. One possible solution is to create a menu similar to that of the main menu in the game Counter Strike: Global Offensive (see below):

That menu is simple, eye catching, and space efficient. Something similar to that would really benefit FF. Webby already has the FF logo image in the top left serving as a redirect to the forum home, it shouldn't be too difficult to have the links for FAQ, Profile, Inbox, and Login/Register/Logout be represented by images that direct to their current locations, as well.

You can change your settings to have a window pop up whenever you receive a new PM.

I agree with this. Or at least do something to bring the 'attention' to the new messages.

"You have no new messages"

vs

"You have X (1, 2, etc.) new messages"

is barely differential.

I personally keep an eye on it, but I do agree that many would overlook it.

Certainly people can set up their profiles to receive email alerts when they get a PM, but if you are semi-active, you don't want to clunk up your email account with that.

Maybe make it more visually appealing or something?

This is one question that I like and agree with. Making it more noticable would make things a little better around here.
