I've been following the draft since 1997 and as of right now this is the weekest draft I can remember. 2005 was pretty darn close but as of right now I don't see a single player that would crack my Top 32 since 1997. I don't see a sure fire Top 5 pick.
Anyway that led me to wonder what other big boards have looked like since they started following the draft and if anyone has been following longer what guys were stud prospects. Anyone ever see a prospect more complele or more dominate for an entire career like Orlando Pace?
1. Orlando Pace 1 99
2. Julius Peppers 2 97
3. Mario Williams 1 97
4. Calvin Johnson 3 97
5. Peyton Manning 1 96
6. Trent Richardson 3 96
7. Andrew Luck 1 95
8. Shawn Springs 3 95
9. Ricky Williams 5 95
10. Robert Griffin III 2 95
11. Charles Woodson 4 95
12. Robert Gallery 1 95
13. Ndamukong Suh 2 95
14. Eli Manning 1 94
15. Joe Thomas 3 94
16. Adrian Peterson 7 94
17. Reggie Busch 2 94
18. Walter Jones 6 94
19. Larry Fitzgerald 3 94
20. Sean Taylor 5 94
21. Gerald McCoy 3 93
22. Cadillac Williams 5 93
23. LaVar Arrington 2 93
24. Sam Bradford 1 93
25. Ryan Leaf 2 93
26. Michael Vick 1 93
27. Randy Moss 21 92
28. Carson Palmer 1 92
29. Charles Rogers 2 92
30. Richard Seymour 6 92
31. Andre Johnson 3 92
32. Champ Bailey 7 92 _________________

RB - Peterson, Bush, Richardson
TE - Winslow
WR - Calvin Johnson, AJ Green
OL - Thomas, Gallary
DE - Peppers,
DT - Suh, Darius
LB - Miller, Hawk, Curry
CB - Peterson
S - Berry _________________

Seriously? Do you not remember that year? Russell has numerous Question marks. He wasn't even considered a guarantee to be the best QB in the class. Infact probably 90% of the Browns wanted Quinn over Russell. Maybe it was just us Browns fans but we almost all wanted nothing to do with Russell and were fearful Savage would trade up for him because of some hometown connection.
If you said Ryan Leaf then I would believe you because the majority actually though Leaf was the superior prospect. Lucky for Indianapolis they made the right decision. _________________

and Orlando Pace says hi | If you're insinuating RG3 was a better prospect, I find that very funny. _________________

Jamarcus MAY have had more hype, but not by much.
Griffin had more TD's then incompletions half way through the year.
He was WAY faster than Russell as well.
Maybe it was just us, but the Browns forum actually hated the idea of Russell.
Like said earlier we wanted Quinn before Russell. He was probably 4th or so on our Forum's BB. _________________

I will always stand by not thinking Jamarcus Russell was worth a top 2 round pick. The guy was a moron and flung the ball up there for his good receivers. For as much [inappropriate/removed] as Brady Quinn got for performing bad against good defenses, Jamarcus Russell was far far far worse. _________________

I know my top 3 would be
1. Calvin Johnson
2. Ndamukong Suh
3. Sean Taylor
After that I have no idea what it would look like. But those three I loved as prospects. _________________

This. Physically Russell looked to be arguably the best quarterback prospect ever. _________________
