First game back yesterday had 15 tackles and being a converted S at 6-3 238 pounds showed a great ability to cover RB and TE yesterday and ggot many hands on balls in deep zone coverage. Mcshay has him ranked 20th overall before yesterday, can he challenge Teo has first ilb drafted??

Not only can he challenge...he can overtake him.

Don't worry. Sean Payton would pass the ball in a Tornado.

But would he do it in a Sharknado?

I agree. The Te'o hype is strong because if the two INTs against Michigan, even if neither of them was a good play by him. I liked Te'o more than most preseason, but its opposite now.

He's a beast in coverage but he's pretty weak in run support.

Oh, please. Te'o has played at a high level all season.

To me, Ogletree is the type of guy who can go top 15. I don't think Te'o is special enough to go that high. Not saying Tree will go that high, but definitely think someone of his athleticism is likely to go higher.

I agree. I was really impressed with his impact in coverage against Tennessee. And he always seems to be around the ball.

Did I say he hasn't been playing at a high level? I'm guessing you're a ND fan? There is no denying his statistics have been inflated, and thus his hype. He is still a first rounder, but he isn't as good as his stats.

You watched him? He's not really strong taking on blocks, doesn't fight through traffic well and he's a light hitter for a linebacker.

There’s no doubt Ogletree has everything the modern day LB needs physically to be a success…however I feel the reason he won’t overtake Te’o is his lack of intangibles…he isn’t the competitor Te’o is and certainly isn’t the leader…plus having been suspended in both 2010 for theft & then this year for a failed drugs test you have to have questions about his maturity and off-field activities.

He makes a ton of tackles in run support for someone who is apparently weak at it. I could accept saying he is weak when it comes to taking on blocks, but the guy can make tackles sideline to sideline against the opposing run game.

I've been pushing Ogletree as the potential top ILB in the draft for awhile now. The suspension could certainly come back to haunt him in that department, but on there really isn't a whole lot to question when it comes to on-field performance.

He's not on the same level talent wise to Teo. I don't think there's any way he goes ahead of him.

He's a real good player. Decent awareness for a player new to the position. Great athlete with elite long speed for the position.

He's not physical at all though. Doesn't take on blockers. Motor runs hot and cold. A bit of a pile jumper at times.

Idk, those two interceptions are not the first thing that come to mind when someone says Te'o. Everyone has liked the kid since his sophomore year and knows his skillset. I don't think there was any real over inflation since the ND game based on those two plays.

He went from being a potential first round pick all the way to a potential first round pick. Wink
