Golden Egg: LeSean McCoy
The guy just keeps making plays. He consistently makes something out of nothing. Feel bad for the guy.
Rotten Egg: Trenches.
The front 4 is getting pressure, but not getting to the QB. Great pocket passers and guys like Roethlisberger won't be affected by a front 4 rush who can't get to them. They're just like gnats, they bother them, but won't force mistakes.
The offensive line is just bad. _________________

Same. I love the gnat comparison there, very accurate. _________________

I don't understand how McCoy gets a Golden Egg.
He had a 3.3 average.
I mean, you can say it was mostly the fault of the line, but to award the egg to McCoy is tantamount to a participation trophy.
"Hey, your numbers sucked, but here's an award for trying real hard."
Is this Sesame Street or football?
I am hard pressed to pick a star from today.
There were a lot of mediocre performances and not one standout, unlike Timmons, Mendenhall or Brown for Pittsburgh.
The Eagles were flat.
I guess I'll choose Ryans for his 12 tackles.
That's a good number, but he wasn't outstanding.
Vick gets the Rotten Egg despite having a significantly higher QB rating than his counterpart (104.2/72.7).
That fumble on the goal line was just terrible.
Yeah, I understand that the ball was slick as evidenced by Mendenhall's fumble. But, you have to know that and do what it takes to protect the ball. Seriously. |

Numbers don't always tell the whole story. Yeah he struggled in the first esp when Timmons was in beast mode, but he made some key plays down the stretch including the 2 4th down conversions. _________________

Especially when the play is a designed rush. If Vick is going to run the ball, there is no excuse. Fumbles in the pocket? Fine, that happens to every QB. A lot of defenders make a living on strip sacks. But when he plans on taking it in himself he needs to protect the ball better than that, I don't care who is hitting you or what the weather is like.
Or--better yet--just give the ball to the best player on your team! It seems to me that each week the game plan is somehow Vick-centric, when it should be unequivocally Shady-centric. _________________

Golden Egg: Shady, maybe but, no one really stood out.
Rotten Egg: Vick/Trenches. _________________

Yes, he got one yard twice.
Damn near what he did every time he got the ball. |

I would give the golden egg to McCoy even if he averaged 1 yard per carry.
The receiving touchdown was beautiful.
He picked up crucial 1st downs on a gamble Reid took. Nobody else gets that yard with this line. _________________

Scored a touchdown and was the key reason that last drive was worth anything. He or Ryans probably deserve the golden egg.
Vick is the rotten egg. both his fumbles were bad and if not for Larry Foote's touching him down he would have had 3. You could also say the OL, but they weren't awful in the 2nd half and on both Vick fumbles weren't on them (IE stripsack). _________________
