He's only got 3-4" on Chung, as opposed to 7. Dreessen is a guy I'm more worried about. He's more athletic and more of a WR/TE tweener. Could cause some mismatches if the Pats put LBs on him. _________________

Interesting. The Broncos nearly drafted Brandon Bolden in the 7th round but they were afraid of his constant need for the reefer. They didn't want another Mareno (sp?) on the roster. |

He's also awful. I'm getting sick of apologizing for Josh McDaniels. |

Trust me. We've realized this. _________________

I wish Belichick would. McDaniels sucks, and the fact that his guys have been brought in steadily since he arrived doesn't thrill me. |

Nope, Tamme is the more athletic tweener, not Dreessen. Dreessen aligns inline on 99% of the time he is on the field (had one snap at H-Back last game to block on a HB sweep from Shotgun). Tamme aligns all over the place. In the first half alone last week he aligned inline, in the slot, FB (motioned from the slot) and as the split end WR.
Dreessen has shown he is capable of blocking at the 2nd level 1v1 vs Linebackers, and at times this year he has handled DE's (we trusted him 1v1 vs Lamar Houston last week - a 300lbs LE). He isn't a stud blocking TE, but he is much, much more the traditional TE than Tamme is. The latter is a very average blocker at best.
As for the comments about Von Miller - if you underestimate the extent of a thumb injury for a pass rusher, I don't know what to tell you. You quote tackle numbers, but when are the tackle numbers ever high for a DE against a pass Offense like the Patriots? Miller moves to DE in our Nickel and Dime packages, and I would bet we were in the Nickel and Dime for 80% of the snaps against the pass happy Patriots.
I am not saying he is going to have a great game on Sunday, but this won't be the same Von Miller you saw last season. _________________

I reall hope the Bronco's do play Von Miller at DE.
We'll run it down your throats just like we did to the Bills.
If you want to go with a D-Line where Bunkley is the only player over 300lbs then so be it.
I bet the O-Line and Ridley/Bolden are licking their chops if they have to go up against a D-Line of:
Miller - Wolfe - Bunkley - Dumervil _________________ Adopt-a-Patriot '14: Danny Amendola Status: Allegedly Deflating Balls On The Sideline |

Was that in the Chris Price piece?
Bolden seems pretty down to earth to me... _________________

I heard it on a radio interview from a Bronco beat reporter. |

Yeah, so you clearly don't know what you're talking about here....Bunkley doesn't play for Denver for one. Denver's run defense is also MUCH better than last year. And by much I mean considerably. Vickerson, Bannan and probably Wolfe at this point are all over 300 LBS.
No team including Houston or Oakland, with considerably better RBs than Ridley and Bolden has "run it down our throats" so far. Also, Miller has improved tenfold vs the run. Denver is the ninth best rush defense in the league, allowing 89 YPG.
Del Rio's defense this year has also tackled considerably better than last years. If NE is going to attack this defense adeqautely, it better attack the LB corp. _________________

Denver is going to be able to pass on NE, it's just a matter of where they attack. Tamme is good down the seams, and if NE is as weak there as I have read in other places, he could have a good day. The caveat to that, however, is that Manning has been ehh down the seams, but better to the outside, IMO.
I don't really see anyone who can contain Demaryius Thomas on this defense, but I could easily be wrong. _________________
