Not sure if anyone saw this - but IGN is doing an all-time list.
Right now, they still have 40 to reveal. I already disagree with several. FF8 is only #97.
How "The World Ends With You" is higher than FF10 and Demon's Souls is ridiculous. "The World Ends With You" was a very bland and linear JRPG. Not sure how that possibly was better than 30+ other RPG's.

As long as Paper Mario is on the list I'll be satisfied. Did it appear yet? Because if not then it's definitely in the top 40 cause they include PM on the graphic for the top 100 RPGs. Kingdom Hearts may make it as well, although it's a multi genre game, I'm pretty sure that's Mickey from KH in the graphic on the list.

Its around 60 I think (Paper Mario).

I'm not as RPG savy as some of you, but Im interested to see where D2, WoW, Skyrim, FO3, and KOTOR land; what does everyone think will be the number one RPG?

Zelda OoT or Skyrim imo.
Another opinion based list that will get many angry but will create many views lol

Based on what I know and am used to from IGN, they'll go with a Final Fantasy, Bethesda (Fallout/Elder Scrolls), or classic (Mario/Zelda) as #1, and I expect at least 5 of the top 10 to be from those categories (probably Skyrim, Fallout 3, Ocarina of Time, whatever FF you guys were saying was the best, some Mario RPG).

I personally LOVE linearity. MAybe I dont have "different" adventures like skyrim, but most of the time, that single adventure every experiences will be much more thought out. Look at games like Heavy Rain and The Walking Dead. Some of the best story telling in a video game imo, and imo its largely due to you having to follow the same storyline.
EDIT: I think Linearity gets a bad rap. IMO its a different way to playing a game rather then a fault.

They're up to 20 now. Fallout and Fallout 2 came in with these last updates (33 and 28, I think), so that tells me that Fallout 3 will definitely be top 5.
khodder, Deus Ex came in at #25.

Cool that Freedom Force got a shout-out. That game was really fun and fresh. Might have to pop it in tonight and see if it still holds up.
Chrono Trigger has to be top 5 at the very least.
