Outside of the blocked punt this year, I think special teams has been one of our strong points. Or at least not a weakness. |
The Pats punt return team has usually been good, But the kick returning had been average or below average most years, and they haven't really made too many big plays in the Belichick era (e.g. blocked punts, recovered onsides kicks) - especially recently. During the Super Bowl winning era, they seemed to be able to make more big plays on ST (though a lot of that is luck).
The kick coverage unit is OK. Some years it's in the top third, most years it's pretty much average.
It's just a bit surprising given Belichick's background as a special teams coach and a big believer in the "1/3 of the game" mantra. |

I have faith that we won't give up very many big returns, but I would like to see our returners upgraded this next offseason. _________________

I really hope you save some of your posts on these boards to look back on 15 years from now. It's amusing to imagine what adult NBT would think of current NBT. |

Hopefully...he will look back fondly, and think he enjoyed the times he lived in, by embracing them, and making the most of them with what he could do at his age.
I'd imagine looking back on my posts in 20 years, Ill think "Woof. I really miss Tom Brady, Belichick (R.I.P.), and above all...Moss. HAHA youtube LOL I forgot about that "website".
*gets in flying car and goes on vaca to mars*
Or more realistically, "Wow, I made absurd, sarcastic claims for kicks quite frequently". _________________
