Chipper walks to the clubhouse for the final time after tonight's game.

I just wanted to take a minute to pay tribute to the guy who is the inspiration for my username, has been my favorite player since I was a little kid, and has been the backbone and heart of the Atlanta Braves organization for the last two decades. He's had an incredible career, one which will be enshrined in Cooperstown one day, and you can make a case that he's one of if not the best third basemen of all-time. He's done some incredible things throughout his career, but most importantly for me, he's been my favorite player and my sports hero.

Chipper, thank you. I know my sentiment is shared by every other Braves fan out there. We'll miss you. Best of luck in your retirement, and thanks for all the wonderful memories you gave us over the last two decades.

That's an awesome picture. Always loved Chipper, pretty sad to see his last AB tonight.

I know as a Phillies fan I'm supposed to hate him, but I never could. Class player in every sense of the word.

I have despised Larry more than I have ever despised a player, including even Yadier Molina. However, I must salute him on an excellent career. First ballot Hall of Famer.

I'm sad that I'll never see Chipper play again. He's probably my favorite non-Angel in the league. Him or Thome, who I'm hoping doesn't retire along with Chipper.

Hes a tremendous player, however he will be best know for the 2 run error for the next 2-3 years.

No he won't.

I agree he won't. It is sad that this is how he had to end his career. Was really pulling for the Braves so that he could at least get one 5 game series.
