Me and kinzy are too. |
I have never watched a lord of the rings movie. My nephew is going to see this Saturday for his birthday, I might go with just to see what the hoopla is all about. _________________

The book (The Hobbit) was a little slow, so I'm not sure what to expect but the previews look good. I'm a pretty big Lord of the Rings fan (I've read all the books), so I'm excited.
It's also a little weird that they split this next franchise into three movies. I know it's all about money... but I'm curious to see how they'll turn out. The first two movies are about the Hobbit, and the third movie is to tie the Hobbit into the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
If you go just keep an open mind. At the very least enjoy the scenery in the movie. It's beautiful. _________________

I have tickets to the midnight premier. I absolutely loved the trilogy and can't wait for tomorrow night. _________________

I still wish the Lions would have promoted Kevin Colbert to the GM position. The Lions have sucked ever since he left the advance scout position. While he was the advance scout the Lions made the playoffs 5 times in ten years. _________________

Angels signed Hamilton. With Trout there for a full season and Pujols being more comfortable in LA they are going to be a tough team next year. _________________

Good for them now I guess but keep in mind Pujols and Hamilton are 32 and 31. Those deals will likely look really bad down the line. That's the risk you take though. _________________

Their pitching staff is still really weak. _________________

I wouldn't say it's really weak. It needs some work at the back end of the rotation and the bullpen, but its decent.
1. Weaver- Ace
2. Wilson- Good #2
3. Hanson- decent when healthy
4. Blanton- below average
5. ?
Lots of teams would kill to have Weaver and Wilson at the top of the rotation. _________________

Heard a rumor that the angels are trying to acquire dickey as well. _________________

Anibal to the Cubs. Seems like it is 5 years 75 MM. I wonder what the Tigers back up plan is.
EDIT: Not official yet, and the Tigers are still in the mix. _________________

Edwin Jackson, Kyle Lohse, trade for RA Dickey
I don't think they can go into to the season with Porcello/Smyly at the back end. Smyly couldn't stay healthy last season. _________________

I could easily see it. Then they can make another move at the deadline for another arm again. It definitely wouldn't shock me. _________________

I don't think they're comfortable with it though. They tried for James Shields, still trying for Sanchez apparently. Heyman says Tigers get chance to match Cubs offer.
There's also talk of Porcello being shopped. I'd be surprised if they're our 4/5 OD. _________________

They are definitely looking, but the options are running out. I don't want Dickey because I just don't trust a knuckleballer, and the free agent market is thin. The opportunity at this point to actually upgrade the rotation is start with those two and buy a P off of a loser later in the season. _________________
