I was watching old First Take episodes and everyone agreed that Eli is the better qb between the two. Skip Bayless is the only one that didnt agree. Everyone seemed like it was obvious. On nfl network of like 6 analysts Faulk and Warner were the only ones that took Peyton. And all the people on Youtube agree with them. I feel like a crazy person that says they got abducted by aliens thinking Peyton>Eli. And i dont even understand it. The only reasoning i get is "TWO SUPERBOWLS IS MORE THAN ONE SUPERBOWL."
I just dont get it. |

Flavor of the month. Eli may actually be better right now, though. I mean, the man threw for basically 5,000 yards last year and won the Superbowl.
Don't worry though, unless Eli somehow gets a 3rd title, history and everyone will remember Peyton as better. Peyton still has a case for the greatest of all time. |

Good question. Damn good question, actually. And I like Eli just as much, if not more, than Peyton. _________________

Eli might be better now, but Peyton is far better as far as careers go. _________________

So that makes him better than Peyton, like from a career aspect? I'm sorry, but as of now Eli isn't close to a top 100 NFL player of all time, while Peyton is at least top 20. _________________

Good call on pointing out that Eli was better than Peyton last year, when Peyton was sidelined all season with a neck injury. _________________

Well without the same rocket powered arm... I'd say the two are pretty much equal ATM... with Eli having what appears to be the better overall weapons.
I think Eli does have a case to be considered better than Manning ATM as Eli is certainly in the elite QB conversation... heck, I think he is an elite QB. Any QB in the conversation I feel has a case for being considered better than the other guys.
But that being said, I certainly don't think that Eli is "clearly" better than Peyton- if indeed he is considered to be. Personally Manning is my favorite QB, so I'll take him over anybody else playing the QB position. _________________

| I don't see the issue with people saying Eli RIGHT NOW might be better than Peyton. Not over their careers, just at this moment. Considering Peyton is 35+ years of age, coming off of multiple neck surgeries and a year away from football he wasn't instantly going to be a top-tier QB coming in. This isn't 2004 Peyton we are talking about here and Eli has been building up a good case for himself over the last couple of seasons. |

Because people are dumb and are comparing a guy who is in his prime to a guy who is past his prime.
Prime Peyton > Prime Eli no discussion.
He also had to play far better AFC teams in their hay days in the 2000s (Patriots, Steelers, Chargers, etc) versus the NFC & Eli which have just started to rise. |
