Teams: Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals
Date: October 14th, 2012
Time: 4:05 PM Eastern Standard Time
Location: University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona
TV: CBS
Radio: Sirius Channel 137
Time to get that nasty taste of Thursday out of our mouths and bounce back to playing good football and winning games.
Buffalo has decided to stay in the Valley all week after just playing in SF yesterday. See how they adjust to that. |

This is the game that if the team plays as poorly as they did last week they are not mentally ready to make a playoff run this year. |

The team is practicing today though how much they do is unknown. I'd expect Whiz to keep if fairly light. |

I had said earlier that if we lost an OLman in the SF game we (my Bills) would be screwed. So, of course, we lost RG Brown (our 3rd string RG who actually played well BTW!!!) and have 2 practice squad linemen flying in to play this Sunday. Calais is gonna rage hard! Prior to this injury, I thought we had a legit chance of taking the Cards down, now even with the Williams injury, it's all on the Cards. The only way the Bills win this game is if the Cards beat themselves. The weird thing about this game is that it could have been a shootout! Kind of strange saying that about the Cards!
Wanny doesn't call many blitzes or even stunts & Mark Anderson is injured, so your OL may not even have to have much assistance chipping, etc. Any rush we get is gonna come from the inside anyway. Kolb and Housler should have a field day against the Bills, and actually, given how often I've seen Fitzgerald & Roberts run some quick routes this year, they might have good games as well. Kolb will be the key to the Cards' win and since Snyder is the only likely OL leak against Wanny's playcalling, he'll easily see it coming and sidestep out of the way. Even if Williams was healthy, the Bills wouldn't have given up the yards on the ground like in previous games...the Cards OL just isn't built to get the holes the Jets, Pats (vs our nickel), & 49ers made.
Defensively, I expect Calais & Washington to get a lot of pressure inside, which is going to force Fitzpatrick out of the pocket...not his strong suit. I'm expecting Fitz to turn the ball over a lot because of this. Our running game might have kept us in this game, but Chan will abandon it (as he always does) as we try to play catch up.
ST are very evenly matched. We both have punters kicking very well and dangerous return men. Placekickers are respectable.
Anyway, Cards win 30 - 17! I would have said Bills win 28 - 27 had Brown not been injured...I am after all a Bills fan 1st!
Here's to an injury-free game - Lord knows both teams need one! _________________

Buffalo has been taking a beating this year. Their defensive line has been a major disappointment. However I still do not like the idea of Mario Williams vs our awful tackles, no matter how bad his play has been this year.
I have been impressed with Kolb this year. He has really done a good job improving his play. He stays in the pocket, keeping his eyes downfield, he has been able to extend plays sometimes, and he has completed a number of huge throws on 3rd and 4th down. For someone who takes a pounding by the media as well as defensive ends, he has been able to convert 3rd and longs, 4th downs (Dolphins game as example) and for the most part, has not turned the ball over. The INT in the endzone against the Rams was horrific but I have been pleased with Kolb this year.
I do agree however that if the Cardinals can't win at home vs a reeling Bills team, this team has no right to be talked about as a team making the playoffs, despite a potential 4-2 start. The offense needs to look NOT awful. _________________

In 2011 plus this season Arizona is 9-2 at home, in 2011 plus this season the Bills are 2-9 on the road. _________________

Really hope Horton got a good look at the five games to date over the weekend and realised that Fleming is indeed our second best corner right now. _________________

+1.
Be interesting to see the offensive gameplan in this one now with Williams out. |

We are going to throw the ball, a LOT. In the two games we have played since Beanie Wells went onto the recall IR we have thrown 98 passes and taken 17 sacks an average of 57 dropbacks per game.
Now we have lost Ryan Williams for the season too, I would not be surprised if we came out and just threw the ball every down.
147 offensive plays, 32 runs 21.7% run, 78.3% pass. _________________
