Bad as this is to say, while we're losing a ton of talent here, we're not losing any production. Williams was averaging 2-something a carry with 0 TDs. _________________

| I actually think Addai might work and they may trade for a RB as well. Use the extra pick the team has. A guy like Montario Hardesty might be available and only cost a 7th rounder. I'd like to see what he can do if given a chance. |

Normally I'd say give LSH a shot but he's as brittle as Beanie/Williams. Not sure we take a risk there. _________________

| Could a guy like LaGarette Blount be an option? I see them making a trade rather than picking off the FA list.. Maybe Pierre Thomas? This opens things up for Mark Ingram and off course Sproles. |

I'm sure we'd look at what NO would ask for 1 of their guys.
Whiz said he's not rushing to add another back just yet. Maybe we are going with LSH... _________________

The logistics probably won't work - just asking for the fun of it. |

Expensive road to ponder. I like the idea though because you'd have a franchise back for sure and good change of pace for/if Wells when healthy. Have to figure that's at least a first round pick gone.. plus extras. |

We'd have to get him at our price pick wise. I wouldn't give a notch over a 3rd round pick.
This is a guy who I think could be available though. Notorious feud with the ownership this offseason, decently talented RBs can be easily switched out for other decently talented RBs without any noticeable difference in production, teams going nowhere this season. Theoretically speaking, he's exactly the type of guy you want to ship out for a draft pick if you're a 1-4 team. _________________

The problem with trading for anyone is that every team in the league knows they have you by the short hairs. Trading in season when you have such a glaring need almost always drives the price up on anyone.
I know Larod Stephens Howling isn't a typical everydown back, but he has great wiggle and catches well, which would add a nice element to the attack.
If you sign a free agent Slaton has some potential. I'd also like to offer up Daniel Thomas for consideration. He is relatively young and doesn't look like a great fit for Miami's new offensive scheme. Plus we just drafted Lamar Miller.
Either way, good luck. Its too bad you can't bring Larry Centers out of retirement. I know he played fullback, but he hand hands of gold. Or you could go back even further and bring in Terry Metcalf or Otis Anderson. Good luck the rest of the way. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. We have lost our #1 and #2 backs for the season and still have two guys on the roster with NFL starts. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

LOL, yeah, that's what happens when your 1-2 backs miss games in 2011 as well.
Whiz said he's in no hurry to add a back. We'll probably see how this week goes before making a decision. Regardless, here'a a list of rotoworld's top free agent RBs:
1. Tim Hightower
2. Steve Slaton
3. Thomas Jones
4. Joseph Addai
5. Cadillac Williams
6. Tyrell Sutton
7. Ryan Torain
8. Maurice Morris
9. Rock Cartwright
10. Dimitri Nance
11. Kevin Faulk
12. Jerious Norwood
13. Sammy Morris
14. Chester Taylor
15. Lonyae Miller
16. Kregg Lumpkin
17. Xavier Omon
18. Kareem Huggins
19. Davin Meggett
20. Herb Donaldson
21. Deji Karim
22. DuJuan Harris
23. Thomas Clayton
24. Keith Toston
25. Chris Taylor
Just saw a link that said Kevin Faulk has retired. We can cross him off. _________________

Thomas Clayton, who was with us in the preseason, was suspended 4 games by the league last week. Cross him off too. _________________

Based on the list you provided, I could feasibly see the Cardinals targeting Hightower, Addai, Cadillac and Chester Taylor.
Addai is a good pass blocker and Hightower is not too shabby either, so if we are going to be awful at running the ball, that would be something worth having. _________________

I like the idea of Blount, Thomas or Ivory coming here. Blount was actually rated by PFF as extremely efficient in pass protection, and he fits the scheme. I would take any, but the way I see it, the run blocking isn't going to get any better and we are going to be passing the ball frequently, so we might as well get a back who can protect Kolb. _________________
