On a more positive note, both the Texans and the 49ers looked bad and beatable.
49ers, just force Alex Smith to beat you.
Texans, the only player on defence who scares me is Watt. Reed and Barwin are over rated. | The texans DL got dominated by maybe the worst OL in the NFL. That's why GB looked so great, for the first time this year, Rodgers had time and as we all know, if you give Rodgers time, he will eat you alive. |
Same thing happened on the opposite side of the ball…even without Raji the Packers Dline outplayed the Texans Oline which was a big surprise IMO. |

I think against a zone blocking team like Houston your right. |

Yep...and Nick Perry who was also forced out of the game...
We have been pretty lucky so far with injury...even tho Bennett went out we had Alshon...then Alshon goes down and back comes Bennett...just need to hope he and E-Rod can get back for the Lions game. |

If we have to go a few games w/o Pep are you really worried about our DL? Can we win w/o Urlacher? I mean we just have some serious depth on this team right now. Our safeties are playing phenomenally, but if we lose one, Craig Steltz is going to be exactly where he is supposed to be. You have to be able to survive the knicks and bruises of the season. That's what Angelo didn't understand that Emery does. Angelo said last year "its about stars, it's about 1, 2, 3 on your roster, not 51, 52, 53." I thought at the time it was the stupidest thing I had ever heard, and Emery is showing why. _________________

Your spot on…Emery has really turned us around far quicker than I was expecting him to…2 or 3 more years of solid drafting and FA pickups we could be one of those contending teams year in year out. |

Shea has been a pretty serviceable pass rush specialist, Alshon is already a pretty good #2 and Jay has been saying that he's going to be a special player, but ERod really hasn't done anything yet, Hardin is on IR, Frey is on the practice squad. Its some of the lesser moves he's made that have been some of the best. Grabbing Campbell and Bush from the Raiders. Getting a guy like Geno Hayes as a backup LBer. Stealing Costanzo away from the 49ers. Cutting bait on 1 DT who you traded a pick away for and resigning another who has had good success in this defense. Is there really any chance Angelo would have cut Brian Price after trading for him? I don't think so. _________________

I'm just shocked at how our draft picks are actually playing. That sounds sad but we all know JA's picks didn't even play the first year or two before being busts.
Drafting is the life blood of the NFL and so far Emery has done a solid job.
In regards to the Packers, I think Raji has taken a huge step back from his first 2 years, him being out probably really helped that team. I'm shocked the Texans weren't able to beat that Dline.
Just goes to show you, its a week to week league. _________________
