Or, the doctor who's been practicing for 20 years is so sure of his/her diagnoses (because the cases are similar to previous ones s/he's had) that s/he ignores other more fitting diagnoses where the doctor who's been practicing for only a few years comes at the situation with a fresh perspective. Or, the doctor who's been practicing for 20 years is too set in his/her ways to alter his/her methods to accommodate for techniques, technologies, etc.
See? I can play that game, too.
So far as I recall, nobody in this thread is actually saying life experience isn't worth anything. Nobody is saying that you're worse off with the perspective of time. If anybody has said that, I strongly believe he or she is incorrect. What we're disagreeing with is your seeming assertion that life experience is an "I win" button.
And nobody really has all that much of an issue with how you handled this one particular situation, in and of itself. It's your statements like "I don't respect young people unless they're a prodigy" and others that reinforce that statement that cause people to question you (including how you acted in this particular incident). Forest for the trees. _________________

This one time, I went to Subway to buy a sandwich but I forgot my debit card at home. I only had like $4 so I had to get a 6inch instead of a 12 inch.

One time, I was driving to work, and I saw a strange object in the road in front of me. I thought it might be dangerous, so I switched lanes. Turned out it was just a plastic bag.

That sounds rough, but I'm sure this experience forced you to grow up and mature sooner than you had expected. I will respect your opinion because of this. _________________ Martellus Bennet highlight video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lP8fHN53t0 |

I think the above posts should stand as confirmation of why people my age and older don't take youth seriously.
You guys like to exaggerate and make light of any situation. Nevermind overreact but that's what makes FF so entertaining right?

IIRC, I'm older than you, so take the next few words with that in mind:
When the guys above want to be taken seriously, they can articulate themselves in a proper manner, one that does not indicate that youth should be considered within the context of their message. I've seen several instances in which these guys do, in my interactions with them while discussing the trivial activity known as pro football. If they are able to articulate their stances so effectively within that discussion, I can only surmise that they can transfer this ability to topics outside of football with equal results. In no time have I ever held their ages against them, even thought I know who they are and know how old they are.
Yet, in a topic such as this, where you're basically asking for us to validate a stance in which you yourself have questions on and are continually attempting to find some sort of justification, it behooves everyone involved to find SOME way to maintain some sort of sanity. Since just going off on you and calling you to the carpet as brutally as possible could warrant administrative action against THEM, they went the alternate route, using humor to discredit a stance you are too stubborn to break away from.
In short: People have spent pages of telling you why your train of thought is wrong, yet you continue to protect the stance you have taken, as if there is ground for you to stand on. Continuing the discussion with a rational approach will be lost on you (as you have demonstrated with your endless replies) and attacking you personally puts their posting rights at risk, so the only safe alternative is to turn this into one big joke, one that you're not seeing, apparently.
But, that's just how I see it. _________________

I'm telling you...200 years from now, THIS is what we have to expect. I just feel it, I know it. This HAS to be the reason. _________________
