#Astros take #RedSoxRHP Josh Fields w/No. 1 pick. Great chance to stick after AAA success. Plus fastball, hard curve. #Rule5 |

Could be our closer since we traded Lopez.
We picked IF Nate Freiman (SD) in round 2. Wasnt he in the Rangers system? _________________

At No. 2, #Cubs get #Indians RHP Hector Rondon. At No. 3, #Rockies get #Nationals LHP Danny Rosenbaum. #Rule5 |
|
Curse you Cubs!!!!
Rondon's last full season (has had injury troubles ever since) was 2009 when as a 21 yeard old between AA and AAA he had an ERA of 3.38 and a WHIP of 1.17, he struck out 137 and walked 29 in 146 innings. Dude was just getting healthy again at the end of last year.
He could keep having injury issues and amount to nothing, but if he stays healthy he has a ton of upside, possibly even good #3 starter level upside. _________________

Red Sox fans, they have been apparently inquiring after Mauer (off season tradition as far as I can tell) but what realistically would the Boston Red Sox have to offer for Mauer in terms of prospects? _________________ Gnat's Movie Reviews

Two Upton deals are in play, one with DBacks, Rangers and Rays. Other one includes Mariners.
If we can get out while keeping our big prospects, land Holland, sign Hamilton and maybe sign another name, I'd be pretty damn happy. Holland would do well in Safeco, even with the fences coming in. _________________

Yeah, as much as I'd hate Upton going to the Rangers, I'd do it if it meant Hamilton lands in Seattle.
I wouldn't deal any of our top arms though. Nick Franklin, Brad Miller, or someone even lower on our rankings. _________________

From everything I've read, the Red Sox have inquired multiple times and been told that Mauer isn't getting moved. As for what I'd give up for him, it depends on how much money the Twins pick up. He still has $138MM left on his deal and I can't imagine the Red Sox would be willing to take all of that on for a 30 year old sort of catcher. I'd be hesitant to give up any of our big 3 (Bogaerts, Bradley, Barnes) but pretty much everyone else is in play. _________________

Twins have apparently traded Ben Revere to the Phillies, sounds like Vance Worley and a prospect. _________________ Gnat's Movie Reviews

Decent move for both teams. We have the a lot of young pitching depth and needed a center fielder. _________________

What does bourn do now if the mariners sign hamilton?
Not play baseball next year or actually make money he's worth instead of what boras thinks he's worth? _________________

I think Bourn would rather play in Beirut. _________________

#Royals actually talked to #Mets more about Jon Niese and Zack Wheeler in trade variations involving Wil Myers -- not Dickey. Not happening. |

Red Sox close to signing Koji Uehara. If Daniel Bard can regain some of his past glory, we could have a pretty sick bullpen. _________________
