You guys are right, you can't really compare the two. My bad... I wasn't aware how severe punishments would be for resisting arrest (or charges along those lines)... I was looking at it mainly on the DUI side because I figured that would be where the most severe charges would stem from. I was wrong.
No worries. Stallworth's case, superficially, would seem like a good one to point to because of the severe consequences of the DUI. But because of the unusual circumstances surrounding the whole ordeal, it really isn't a barometer of anything. Most often (not saying that's what you were doing) people like to point to it as a case of an athlete/celebrity getting off easy because of status, but it actually has very little if anything to do with that. It's simply a corner case, so it's very rarely going to be a helpful comparison.

And punishments for resisting can be pretty harsh (for a reason), though they often depend on situation, too.

Being .20 pushes him into ”enhanced impairment” in a lot of states and in their opinion this its viewed as a behavriol trait versus a lapse,

Saddens me to hear all this. Really wanted him in the draft. I guess Reggie passed on him because of possible character issues. Dude is gonna see some time behind bars for sure.

But would he do it in a Sharknado?

That's flipping crazy - why would you try and run? Just take the DUI, pay your fines, and go back to work - you likely don't even get a suspension for first offense.

I loved him before the draft. I wonder if he will ever play in the NFL.

If it were any other team I'd be surprised, but it's the Steelers -- I'd be more surprised if they kept him.

They are different. Obviously Ta'amu is much more neglegent and at fault for what he did. Have we heard what his BAC was? But Stallworth was over the limit and did kill someone and he received 30 days. Yes there were other circumstances involved but those two are the most important facts. My only argument was that the person quoted was calling for "years" which will not happen.

And I wouldn't call .12 "barely" over legal limit.

BAC was .196

He's 350 lbs.
Can you imagine how many beers he'd have had to chug to blow a .196?

One-man happy hour! Shocked

I was so happy we had drafted him, but if he can't stay out of trouble off the field; he clearly can't focus on the field.

NT is officially our #1 need. Hampton is clearly an average NT at this point. He is playing his last season in Pittsburgh. We have to get a future NT immediately.

Ta'amu passed waivers; he's now on the Steelers practice squad.
