Scapegoat firing.
Our defense is the only reason why we've been competitive in every game. Our offense is completely incapable and we fire our defensive coordinator?
Juan was fired because he's the easy one to fire, "oh yeah he was the offensive line coach turned defensive coordinator." But he has been doing a good job and our defense has been good so far.
People will point to the Eagles "blowing a 10 point lead" against Detroit. But really?
The only reason we were up 10 points was because Detroit decided to give Jeremy Maclin a free touchdown, it's not like the offense earned that one.
Then the offense goes 3-and-out on every consecutive drive including overtime where they dug themselves into a 3rd and 31 situation 
Marty Mornhinweg should have been fired, the OC, not Juan Castillo, the DC.
Luckily Todd Bowles should be a good replacement.

I really hope someone in the media chews Andy out for this during his presser and grills him about the incompetent moron he supports on the offensive side. It wont happen but a man can dream. Seriously, this guy is such a buffoon.

| This is a good move. Juan was in over his head as defensive coordinator. He simply couldn't adjust his gameplan and his defense was super vanilla. The Eagles defense is doing well simply because of their talent level, not Juan Castillo. His defense has gotten blown up for 7 comeback losses in 2 years. This should've happened months ago. |

Either way it makes Andy Reid look like a fat moron. He hired him in the first place. So essentially he is saying, yeah I was dumb enough to put this guy in the role now I have to admit the last year and a half were a mistake. Same exact thing as McDurrrmott, Andy Reid is horrible.
And again, top 6 defense.
Worst offense in the NFL.
Fire the d-coordinator.

I read on Eagles fan on here saying you guys needed a new DC, and I was wondering if most Eagles fans thought that way.
I agree with you though. While Nmamdi wasn't playing up to his potential, the fact that the Eagles offense is giving away the ball at a record pace and the Eagles aren't getting blown out is a clear sign the defense is pretty good. Also, before the last two drives Stafford had what, a 4% completion percentage?

idk..i think this needed to happen. looking down the eagles roster their D should be top 5. They have been around the middle of the pack this year. A spark in defense could help the offense also

I agree with this post, especially the bold portion. Not sure how firing Castillo will make our O-line better or cause Vick to turn it over less, but some thing obviously had to change. Maybe Castillo should have never been given the job in the first place, but good luck to Bowles moving forward.

Wow.. This reeks of scapegoat. News-flash, Andy Reid, its your offense that is costing the Eagles games, not the defense.
Anyway, this wouldn't have shocked me had it happened last year but the Eagles defense has been the highlight of the team this year. I do like Todd Bowles, though, and think he'll do a good job.

You don't need some super special scheme all the time. Sometimes you keep things simple and let your players play fast.
