Seattle Seahawks (4-3)

@

Detroit Lions (2-4)

And now it's....

...Storytime with SaveourSonics!

Will be up by Thursday Wink

------------------------------------------------------

Now let's get some predictions and pregame chatter up in here. Coming off a disappointing loss on a short week, the team has a chance at redemption on the road after a break. As always, Give 'em hell.

Except for Megatron, obvi

Prediction: 16-10 W

3 Keys to the Game
1. Battle of Giants

By far the most intriguing aspect of this game in my opinion is the matchup between our giant CBs and the one they call Megatron. This will definitely be the most physically imposing matchup either side faces all year and I am interested to see who wins it. Sherman and Browner should be anxious to get a chance to play who is unanimously considered the best receiver in the game. The Bears contained him quite well with similarly physical corners, but it will be key that we also get pressure on Stafford to cut the head off the snake.
2. Pick Up Your Man Card

Last week we were slapped in the face with the 49ers run game and I'm curious to see if the defense steps up and regains their form. Last Thursday was embarrassing, but the extra rest should rejuvenate us into picking up our pride and really shutting down the opposition.
3. Know Your Strengths & Weaknesses

Show the Lions your identity and don't be shy about it. We need to pound them in the run game like the Niners did to us. Keep up with the playaction, high % throws. Keep up with the deep bombs to keep the defense honest. But stick to your roots. Lynch needs at least 20+ carries and Turbin should be nearing 10. If that happens, we don't lose.

Key Matchup of the Game: Richard Sherman vs Calvin Johnson
Like I said in my first key to the game, this is the most intriguing matchup of the year for me. If Richard Sherman wants people to start talking about him as the #1 CB in the league, he'll have to shutdown the best. I know D!ck is up to the challenge and I'm sure he circled this one on his calendar. Let's see if we double team Calvin at the line like other teams have, or trust our corners to bump him themselves.

Time to get a big game on the road. Pride in Blue and Green, go Hawks.

Nice one!

The Megatron matchup will determine the game. If we can shut him down, then I don't feel that Matt Stafford can do enough with the other receivers.

And the D SHOULD rebound.

On paper, tis should be a win, but we all know that means nothing this year. We've been winning games we shouldn't win and losing games we should be winning. Last night, I watched the Bears and Lions and this is NOT the same Lions team we saw last year. Something has gone terribly wrong. The Matt Stafford that threw for 5,000 yards last year is long gone and he's now replaced with a guy who likes to throw in double and triple coverage. Their O-Line is susceptible to sacks and they abandon the run way too quickly. Defensively, their secondary is a mess and they can't blitz to save their lives.

With that said, I believe this is gonna be a very close game. Given that our passiing game is equally as bad and the only big game Wilson has had was against a Pats secondary that made Mark Sanchez look like an All-Pro, I think this is all gonna come down to our running game (as usual). My prediction is Seahawks 13 Detroit 9.

I cant wait for this game. I especially want to see Sherman against Megatron. That is going to be a battle all day between those 2. I expect them to move Megatron all over the formations in order to free him up. i still think he will get 5 catches or so for 70 yards and a td because well he is calvin johnson. Thats all if Stafford can get him the ball though. Our pass Rush has got to step up this game and pressure stafford and force him into bad throws. I really dont think our offense will have any trouble moving the ball on them if we Stick with Beastmode and Beastmode Jr then work off of those 2 with the play action, but we all know Bevell and he wont stick with that for to long.

Prediction

Seattle 24
Detroit 10

The seahawks have held teams to 23 points or fewer in 16 straight games.

That's the longest streak in over a decade

On of the keys of the game, is making sure we keep "King Kong" out of our backield. That guy is an animal! Did you see thathit he put on Cutler? That hurt me and I was sitting on my couch!

Ok, not really GTD related but I did not want to start a new thread.

I need a new kicker for my fantasy league. I saw that Steven Hauschka kicked a 50 yarder last Sunday. But my friend told me you guys got 2 kickers on your roster? Is this true? And is Steven the starter? And is he good in long range?

No we just have one field goal kicker that is Steven i don't know who he is referring to as our second kicker unless he is talking about our Punter Jon Ryan.

Yea, your friend is clearly ignorant. But yes, Hauschka is solid from long range and is very consistent. Not to mention we're a team that kicks more field goals than we do TDs (worst RZ offense in the league).

Fun Fact #1

Matthew Stafford has yet to throw a TD in quarters 1, 2, AND 3 all season long. All of his 5 TDs on the season have come in the 4th quarter.
