I honestly think the Ben Gordon trade was idiotic and the worst of those. It saved us one year, however BG would be expiring and a decent trade chip this year. Worst case he rots on the bench and we have cap next year. Giving away a first round pick, in a draft that is likely to be loaded for 1 year of salary is stupid. Especially since we aren't competing for a title. That move only made sense if there was something bigger to go with it, and obviously all that was is to have the funds to throw at second rate stars.

As for the idea of Smith and Rondo, I don't love it but I could deal with it. Our defense would be pretty sick, and that's how we won last time.

Alot of that had to do with the locker room issues that Gordon was said to be causing and it even spread to Charlotte who cant wait to get rid of him

example of issues in Charlotte

I could care less
. We could have amnestied him instead and saved our 1st round pick. When trying to rebuild, I don't see the point in sending away 1st round picks for nothing.

How much more could you care less.

I understand but who knows we may suck again and still have that pick this year which is a strong possibility.

But then they get it the next year right? Either way, they are getting compensated.

Not for the outrageous price you were giving for Rondo in this thread. Every suggestion you give makes Detroit worse it seems

ehh. i think Rondo makes us better than Monroe would. but, im not interested in getting better. im interested in being a contender and Rondo alone wouldnt do that. being just goid enough to make the playoffs isnt an accomplishment, imo. it is for football, but not in the nba.

Last time a draft was this deep we came away with Darko Milicic. Just saying. Laughing

Honestly, I think we should just trade for Rondo if that's a possibility and call it an off season. Let our young guys develop and save up for next year.

PG- Rondo
SG- KCP
SF- LeBron
PF- Monroe
C- Drummond

I will die if we can't pull this off

hate to say it, but ur gonna die

You have the strangest group of favorite teams. It's like you spun a globe and stopped it with your finger and started following the team in that state.

He turned down an offer from SAC FWIW.

Summer League practices started today.

Quote:
Keith Langlois ‏@Keith_Langlois 8m
Coaches with Cheeks: Maz Trakh, John Loyer, Bernard Smith. Another (tall) one expected on Sunday. Staff not finalized yet.

Loyer was w/ the Pistons last year and previously coached with Cheeks.

Smith spent time with Cheeks in Portland and Philly.

Trakh comes from OKC along w/ Cheeks.

The "(tall) one" that is expected I am guessing would be Rasheed.

Word is that the Warriors are looking to clear cap room for Dwight and are reportedly willing to trade any of Andrew Bogut, Richard Jefferson, or Andris Biedrins and a 1st round pick to clear room. Obviously it wouldnt be the top choice, but would any of you guys consider it (all three guys are expiring contracts)?

Nothing.

Probably cash or a future 2nd round pick or something. They want to dump salary so they wouldnt want a player in return.
