Wow. I remember seeing it, but I didn't think it would result in a $50K fine! Is this the first fine for faking an injury? _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

Wowza, that's a big fine for the infraction! Holy hell!
$35k from the organization is peanuts, but $15k from Sanders is a pretty big chunk. _________________

I actually thought he was injury when it happened.... The dude has had injury issues with his feet. I sprained my ankle twice in my life and I have moments where it literally gives out after too much activity.
I bet Goodell has lots of "evidence" to prove he faked it. _________________ Come Follow My Oakland Multi-Sport Franchise! |

This is ridiculous
The NFL is against the steelers in recent years with the suspensions of Roethlisberger and Harrison
And the penalty of Clark and the fumble of Roethlisberger against the Giants was a stupid call
Same thing for the first PI call of Lewis _________________

Finally!
I'm glad Goodell and the league is starting to take a stand about faking injuries for extra time outs. It is cheating, plain and simple. _________________ With much cheese,

NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Ray Anderson on Sanders fake injury:
| Quote: | | “Despite the account given by Sanders during our November 2nd meeting, neither the video sequence of the pertinent plays nor the observations of the on-field official support Sanders’s contention that he was in severe pain, either before, while falling to the ground, lying on the ground, or when he was being assisted in leaving the field,” “Moreover, after missing the one play that is mandatory pursuant to the playing rules, and receiving no apparent treatment, Sanders returned to the game for a fourth down punt, on which he out sprinted all of his teammates 26 yards down the field, arriving at the ball ahead of all other Pittsburgh players, and then downing the ball. The video of the play shows Sanders running swiftly and effortlessly toward the punted ball, and then leaving the field with no sign of discomfort. Sanders also played the rest of the game without difficulty. Finally, there is no indication that Sanders has had prior cramping issues while in the NFL, and no Steelers’ medical records or information of any kind were presented that would support a finding that he incurred a cramp that was both as serious and as transient as Sanders suggests.” |
The fine seems justifiable. Not sure why the Giants weren't fined last year tho, their fake injury was way more obvious and involved multiple players. _________________

While I absolutely agree with you on Harrison and Clark, this fine was a no-brainer. It was hilarious when he faked it, but we can't have this kind of crap in the game. It's time to start cracking down on it. _________________

| I like the idea of the TEAM getting a larger portion of the fine. That way they will instruct their players NOT to fake injuries... I am sure if it continues, the fines will increase.. |

I don't think so but there has to be a first time for everything.
This fine should set a precedent to allow it to be fiend in the future and should eventually eliminate it from the game. _________________ With much cheese,
