Fact of the matter is the timing just aint right, Palmer is turning 33 next month and we are in the middle of rebuilding this team. Palmer might not even be back next year, he might decide to hang em up. What will we do then? start Leinart? Eeek, better hope Knapp asks McFadden which running plays he likes LOL.
I wouldnt be suprised if we are even worse next year, With a little luck getting the number 1 pick might save this franchise. |
33 is nothing for a QB, but on the premise that he gets adequate protection. Plenty of QBs have produced well into late 30s and I'd be more than happy for Carson to stay for the next 3 years while we develop the rest of the team and get solidity and continuity before we throw a young QB to the wolves. _________________ “It may take us a short while, but we'll get that nastiness of the Raiders back.”

Palmer would be laughed all the way to Bill's bench as he is turnover prone has been in Cincy and is here.
Don't point to Cassel's fluke year in New England, because had some decent years as a Chief too.
You have to be kidding. | I was thinking the same thing, but i was too embarrassed for him to say it.
If Palmer was on the Patriots, Mallet would be starting. |
You would start Ryan Mallet over Carson Palmer

| we trade a 1 & a 2 for Carson, at least we can give him a half decent line before we give up on him. I say bring a better RT (not usually too expensive in FA...andre Swmith?) and swap Berg (with 1 year experience) for CC at LG and we should be a lot better. |

Palmer is the future. Ranked 1st in yards in the AFC of all QBs
Ranked #3 in the entire NFL with no running game , likey or not ....like
Do you guys just watch Carson?
The Defense is playing at an incredible level are they not, cough cough.
with carson 3-6
without carson 0-9
do the math, if correct, you'll get milk and cookies.

I agree. I think he did enough in the SD, TB, and ATL games to come out with a win as well. SD there was special teams collapse that caused the loss. TB we couldnt stop anything on defense. ATL we stopped them on D all day and then changed the way we played on their last drive giving them the win.
And there have been a ton of drops this season. And not just by DHB. Moore has dropped a lot, Reece, McFadden, Goodson, Hagan, Streater. A lot of TD's and 1st downs have been left on the field by the poor hands. And like you said they know he is going to throw it. Combine that with the turnstyle that is W. Smith and I am amazed at how well he is doing. |

That's because he has no running game. When you're throwing it so much, you're gonna get the volume stats. His completion percentage is average, his yards/attempt is average as well. Those are the efficiency stats. _________________

I'd expect average when you have the o line and run game he has, but IMO he's been above average this year. The fact that he's one of the least sacked QB'S with one of the worst o lines is really a credit to him. (I believe he's 21st or something like that) _________________

Palmer would be a hometown hero if he didn't cost us a 1st. The dude lays it on the line and gives us his all every week, apologizes to the fans, takes all of the blame, is a great leader and has an awesome attitude, but there's literally nothing he can do to earn Raider fans respect other than win a Super Bowl. _________________

True, Eli makes a ton of dumb decisions, as does Romo, and I'm sure they wouldn't be benched on the Patriots. _________________

IMO Palmer is way to similar to Drew Bledsoe and Bill would prefer to bring the guy off the bench who can be molded(IE Tom Brady) instead of sticking with a old dog. |

+1 | I don't expect a super bowl but how about a winning record at some point in his tenure as a Raider? |
