That's idiotic. Dismiss Mularkey because it's time for a 'fresh start'...then interview a guy who has been with the Jaguars for a lot longer because...why?

He didn't even do good job getting the defense together this year, and obviously the talent on the field plays into that...but really? I didn't like Tucker as a HC candidate last year, and like him even less this time around.

At least Nolan has managed to coach some very respectable defenses.

Speaking of the Rooney Rule, why hasn't Charlie Strong come up in conversation? Maybe he just doesn't want the NFL grind, but I thought he could have had an opportunity as a DC when he took the Louiville job. He's shown a knack for getting a lot out of a little bit through motivation and an attacking style on both sides of the ball.

Get the impression that Charlie Strong is pretty content to just be a real 'program builder' with Louisville for the time being. He may be capable of making the leap, but i don't get the impression he's interested in it at this point.

I've been thinking the same thing since about mid-season. They actually mentioned it during the broadcast tonight, when they were talking about Roman likely leaving.

Maybe he's just not interested (ie Monte Kiffin).
