After taking a quick look at the NFL PS's (not sure how updated it was, but seemed mostly right), i got a list of guys that were interesting...
Jeff Adams (Rookie, bigtime athlete, good at columbia)
Matt McCants (Raw, but interesting)
DJ Young
David Mims (Huge and a great athlete for how big he is)
Matt Kopa (Dont know anything about him, but has played minutes before I think)
Matt Reynolds
Andrew Datko (Not very strong, but could do some good in pass pro if healthy) _________________

Why would we go PS to find a new LT? We'll sign a vet. _________________

Vets with LT experience are going to be tough to find. Chad Clifton's still sitting out there in semi-retirement, but the fact that Green Bay hasn't signed him to this point (in spite of having 3 OT's on IR) is conspicuous to me. Plus he'd likely favor signing for them (playoff bound) over us.
Maybe Trai Essex (yikes!) since he has experience playing LT in the past. _________________

Whiz could be fired after the season. He'd be a good candidate. Keep Pags here, have Whiz focus on the O. He'd have a QB. _________________

I used to work with his cousin.
If it looks like Green is going to be out a while, moving Vasquez is a possibility. Essex could play RG, so it's not too bad of an idea. _________________

Wish Troutman was healthy so we could try him out. _________________

I'd take Dombro in this situation. He can play. 4 positions. _________________

No doubt I'd want him. But he's a known. Troutman is an unknown and that makes him intriguing. Could be good or bad. _________________

I saw Taylor was active for the game. Did he get to play? How did he look if so? _________________

The second-year veteran, who's spent his past two NFL training camps in San Diego, will supply depth to an interior line expected to be without starting left guard Tyronne Green. In 2011, Baxter was active for five games with the team as an undrafted rookie, also starting two games in a brief stint with the Jets. |
More moves expected. _________________

| Rotoworld wrote: | Chargers re-signed G/C Colin Baxter and G/T Stephen Schilling.
The Bolts were desperate for depth up front after RT Jeromey Clary, LT Michael Harris, and LG Tyronne Green all suffered injuries in Week 13. One or both of Baxter and Schilling could be forced into the starting lineup at Pittsburgh's No. 1 defense on Sunday. |
Unless they sign another, it looks like Shilling is the new starting OT. I really like him as a G, kinda scared about what I saw when he played RT.
More bad news...
| Rotoworld wrote: | Chargers placed WR Seyi Ajirotutu (hand) and C David Molk (thumb) on season-ending injured reserve.
Ajirotutu had his hand in a cast after last week's game. He had three catches for 45 yards in three games with the Chargers. Michael Spurlock will likely see increased snaps, though he's far from a fantasy option. A special teamer and extra blocker in jumbo packages, Molk suffered a thumb injury in Week 13. |
Seyi wasn't doing a whole lot, but he was catching everything thrown at him. Rivers seem to like him too.
I really think the last game will be started by 5 OL that were signed during the season. It's not looking good for Hardwick and Vasquez. _________________

Since when does a O-lineman goes to IR for a thumb? _________________

Since there's only 4 games left, and there's only 2 healthy linemen. They had to make space. _________________

McMichael has been our best OL all year, I'd feel better with him at LT then some dude off the street. At least we know McMivhael cares about protecting Rivers. _________________
