You can do that anyway. |
Yeah, but it'd be nice to have a leg to stand on. For the first time in a fair while we (Chargers fans) feel your (Raiders fans) pain. You at least have a GM and HC combo with a proper vision, so that while the proof may not be there yet in hard form there is at least reason for optimism (once the bad element is expired). We're still waiting to see if there's really reason to hope... because we still have our egotistical braindead owner to contend with in terms of doing the hiring, you guys at least have a semi-competent Davis at the owner's desk now. _________________

And yet utterly deserved. I still think AJ is getting scapegoated a bit (this resistance to drafting OL before the 3rd round has been part of the team's approach for far longer than he or John Butler were with the team - dating all the way back to '85), but this is a franchise in need of a breath of fresh air and a new mantra - so to speak.
A clean break is needed. |
The man did give Clary an extension. |

And Clary played well until he got that contract unfortunately. He was a solid RT, but he just flat out sucked now. On the other hand, you could make the same argument for Weddle when he signed the extension since there were a lot of fans upset with that choice as well. But he turned out well. It's a gamble, and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I thought AJ had a great offseason this past year. But unfortunately, his undoing is his refusal to get more oline insurance. |

If he is coaching next year....I expect SD to be Andy Reid's landing spot. _________________

Just went back to look at the thread about Weddle being signed. Surprisingly well regarded at that time still but man did he take it to another level. _________________

I'm not sure you're familiar with who Clary is. If you're saying he played well at any point in his career, you'd be wrong. Saying he's bad would be complimentary. _________________

Smart decision. Should have done that last off season. _________________

I could see him with the Ravens if Cam is gone. _________________

I would put money on him being our OC next year, though personally I'd rather move away from the Air Coryell system. _________________ "The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.” |

Norv's Air Coryell is a lot better than Cam's I believe. _________________

Yeah, Norv's system is fairly old school......but Cam's still stuck in the ice age. |

I remember the words overpaid a lot salary wise as well as draftwise from a lot of the naysayers in that thread (I'm talking about the charger.com forums). |
