Teams looking for head coaches that conduct thorough candidate interviews usually bring in 5-8 guys for those interviews. If you had to compile a 5-8 list of guys you wanted to bring in and speak with, who would make your lists? |

Chip Kelly
Dave Toub
Jay Gruden
Rick Dennison
Bruce Arians (Though this could be a slippery slope)
Kyle Shannahan
Winston Moss

Maybe there is a "no-name" like Greg Schiano ala 2011 that we should consider. It's easy to say someone like Jon Gruden, but he has never developed a QB so he is not the answer. _________________

I myself would bring in the following candidates:
Chip Kelly: Head Coach, University of Oregon
Todd Haley: Offensive Coordinator, Pittsburgh Steelers
Vic Fangio: Defensive Coordinator,
Winston Moss: Assistant Head Coach/Inside Linebacker Coach Green Bay Packers
Jay Gruden: Offensive Coordinator, Cincinnati Bengals
Dave Toub: Special Teams Coordinator, Chicago Bears |

The Schiano style coach around right now is Brian Kelly at Notre Dame. He is going to stay there and ride the wave for at least another year or four. _________________

1 guy that comes to mind here is Ben McAdoo, the QBs coach for the Green Bay Packers. |

Capers and Haslett is a whole lot of yuck. Both guys got a couple chances and failed miserably. Haslett's not even a decent coordinator. |

Both these guys have been tried and failed miserably before. Capers I beleive has said he does not want another HC job and I want nothing to do with Haslett and that terrible Washington defense. _________________

If you are looking for a Head Man why not Tom Clements from the same team. _________________

Clements would be a guy I'd try to interview too, ya. With McAdoo, I'm just very intrigued as to why Mike McCarthy continually turns down teams who ask to interview him. He's obviously someone McCarthy really likes and McCarthy's a top notch coach. It's got me intrigued. |

The McCarthy/Philbin/Clements QB school is notorious around the league. It really helped to fine turn Aaron Rodgers mechanics and enhance his mental skills. It helped propell Matt Flynn to the level he was able to play in Green Bay and perhaps most pertinantly he will bring with him a playbook that has proven highly successful with multiple QB's across multiple years. _________________

All good points. I would need to know what his vision for the defense would be but ya, those are good points. He'd be on my list. |
