SEATTLE - Strong safety Adrian Wilson, who has played in more games as an Arizona Cardinal than any other player, sees his time with the franchise ending in three weeks.
Wilson’s role has diminished in recent weeks, and he doubts he will be with the team beyond this year.
“It hurts,” Wilson said. “It hurts. They can give you 1,000 reasons why that is, but I know I can still play football. It’s tough right now.”
Wilson obviously was downcast after the 58-0 loss to Seahawks, a game in which he hardly played in the second half.
So if Arizona does move on from him at the end of the year how big of a hole does that make.

Pretty big whole, especially with Rashad and James both being average players who are UFAs. |

I'm hearing a lot of people won't be back next year. Not a huge surprise (Or maybe it is to some of you) but that's what I'm hearing, a lot of roster turnover. I've got quite a few guesses as to who could be on the chopping block. |

Kevin Kolb
John Skelton
Beanie Wells
Early Doucet
Jeff King
Levi Brown
Lyle Sendlein
Adam Snyder
Rich Ohrnberger
Senio Kelemete
Darnell Dockett
Stewart Bradley
Adrian Wilson
That doesn't include all current UFAs, which included such names as LSH, Paris Lenon, Greg Toler, Rashad Johnson and Jay Feely.
Not all of these guys will be gone, OBVIOUSLY but I believe all are candidates to be. |

That's a pretty big list! My question is, IF Ray Horton were to be hired as HC of another team, do you see him as the type of coach that could bring a couple of Cardinals along with him? As a Chiefs fan, I wouldn't be opposed to adding Lyle Sendlein and Darnell Dockett. I am not sure Dockett projects as making a big impact at this point in his career, but he could provide some semblence of pass rushing pressure at DE for us, or maybe even a veteran to rotate. _________________

If Horton liked him sure, why not? |

Maybe I wasn't so crazy when I brought this up a little while ago. It is too bad that this is how Wilson's tenure with the team will end but that is the nature of the business. _________________

A-Dub played 42 of 69 defensive snaps yesterday. Rashad Johnson played 10, James Sanders played just 9.
Pretty obvious that this elevates the safety need to a higher level, which IMO was already pretty darn high. |

If we do lose him and we will most likely lose him. Safety becomes a top 3 need to me. None of the current back up should be starting for this team. |

As a Vikings fan whose watched brutal safety play the last couple years I really came to appreciate Adrian Wilson's consistancy and toughness.
Really a shame if this is how his tenure ends as a Cardinal judging by his quotes his heart really seems to be in Arizona.
Now finally. Can he still ball like he used to? The Vikes could use a safety opposite Manchild Harrison Smith. _________________

And the current backups are again UFAs this offseason. They may not even be here in 2013. |

No but he's still a serviceable NFL starter who brings good qualities to the team. |
