http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/12/10/49ers-seahawks-moves-into-nbc-prime-time-week-16/
| Quote: | The December 23 49ers-Seahawks NFC West battle that was originally scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. Eastern kickoff on FOX has now become an 8:20 p.m. kickoff on NBC. That means San Francisco will play on Sunday nights in back-to-back weeks, with the 49ers taking on the Patriots on Sunday night in Week 15.
The Chargers-Jets game that had initially been scheduled for NBC prime time has now been moved to a 1 p.m. kickoff on CBS. The league also moved the Week 16 Giants-Ravens game from a 1 p.m. kickoff to a 4:25 p.m. kickoff. |
The 49ers will now play back to back SNF games, after playing the Patriots on Week 15. Both games are road games for the 49ers.
This should be a good matchup and the winner of this game could be the winner in the NFC West. They've already played once in primetime this year (TNF) with the 49ers winning a close game, 13-6. _________________ -Not taking this off until the 49ers win #6 |

Nice replacement for Chargers-Jets.
Also glad that they didn't flex Bengals-Steelers into that slot... _________________

Good choice for flexing into the SN game. Could decide the division. _________________

I think Giants/Ravens and Steelers/Bengals were protected by FOX/CBS. So it was between this game and Saints/Cowboys. But that game had less playoff relevancy than this one.
I'm also a little surprised because this is the 49ers 6th primetime game. They've already played on SNF once, MNF twice, and TNF once. I could have sworn teams were only allowed 5 primetime games but now we will get 6, with 2 straight SNF games.
Has a team ever had 6 primetime games and/or 2 straight SNF games? _________________ -Not taking this off until the 49ers win #6 |

The Redskins, in 2007, had 2 straight Sunday Night games vs. the Giants and Vikings, respectively. Coincidentally, they were also weeks 15 and 16. The Redskins won both of these games and ended up making the playoffs that season.
Any predictions for the week 17 SNF game? I honestly don't know the matchups, but I have to imagine Redskins/Cowboys has to be a major possibility. _________________ RIP SuperSkinFan

Should be a good matchup. I think the Niners will keep it close, but come up short 58-2. |
