| Quote: | Richie Whitt of CBS Dallas reports Dez Bryant will miss the remainder of the season with torn ligaments in his finger.
Bryant initially called the injury a sprained finger, and he caught a 27-yard touchdown against the Bengals playing through it in Week 14. Per Whitt, however, the injury will require surgery and Bryant will be placed on season-ending injured reserve. Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com reports that Bryant's status will be determined, "pending the results of a hand specialist," but the tea leaves suggest we may not see Bryant again this year. It would be a devastating blow to the Cowboys' playoff chances, and fantasy football teams alike.

Holy crap our team is snake bitten.. We are so freaking injury plagued.
Didnt expect to make it to the playoffs, but this def. puts the nail in the coffin.
UPDATE
| Quote: | Cowboys coach Jason Garrett told DallasCowboys.com Monday that Dez Bryant (finger) is "50:50" to play again this season.
Despite previous reports, Cowboys.com writer Nick Eatman says his "gut" is Bryant will not be placed on injured reserve, but the team won't know for sure until results come back from Dez's visit to a hand specialist. Eatman does concede that Dez "could be out of the rest of the season," if the hand specialist determines Bryant needs year-ending surgery to repair the torn finger ligaments. Garrett will speak to reporters later today. Dec 10 - 4:38 PM |

"It would take more than this to take me out,'' Dez said, in a sense angry at being given an initial no-go by team doctors. "No way. They'd have to break my leg to keep me out." |

Well, that sounds pretty final to me. Looks like he is in vs the Steelers. |

Injuries this year:
Jay Ratliff (Pretty much all season)
Phil Costa (See above)
Barry Church (See above)
Pretty much all 3 of our interior Oline at some point
Sean Lee (out for season)
Bruce Carter (out for season)
Orlando Scandrick (out for season)
Demarco Murray - missed what like 4 or 5 games?
Jason Witten had the spleen injury in the beginning of the year and obviously didn't look to good the first few weeks.
Now Dez? Not sure any team has worse luck then us this year.

He made sure to get the TD and hit the 1k mark (while injured) before sitting out the season... _________________

Good teams find ways to win without their star players. They'll manage, if Romo actually plays well for the first 3 quarters of games. _________________

a: The cowboys were very thin going into the season - an unfortunate side effect of having dumbo Wad Phillips not develop and young talent in 4 years.
b: Very few, if any, teams can win with the amount of injuries we have. We are literally signing guys off the street and starting them. _________________

And the chargers are a terrible team that is not going into the playoffs, but will fire its GM and HC at the end of the year.
Thanks for proving my point. _________________

I'd be surprised if Dallas doesn't have a new HC next season to be honest. Jerry won't fire himself so no GM change. |

There is about a 99% chance Garrett is back. Were only year two into a pretty major rebuilding phase. Hell, he has already replaced 60% of the starter. He is not even on a warm seat right now. _________________

I'd be surprised if we do. JG is doing a solid job in cleaning up the mess Wade left behind. And his two drafts have contributed key starters/gamebreaker/ young franchise player we can build around(e.g. Bruce carter, D.Murray, T.Smith).
Every game we play we are always in it. Win or lose we always remain competitive on a week-to-week basis. After his performance bringing the team together yesterday it has been all set he will be our coach heading into next season, the way it should be.
To be honest, I don't think any other coach other than JG who has been under the spotlight of the cowboys pretty much his entire NFL playing/coaching career knows how to handle it.
I'm excited heading into our third draft with him cause if the last two years are any indication we might come out with another young milestone player in our roster that is important for years to come. We aren't looking for quick fix great seasons, what JG doing is building a solid team that will last years, much like his former coach Jimmy Johnson. _________________
