We are trading Prince and Austin Daye in the Memphis-Toronto Rudy Gay deal. We get Jose Calderon (who is a good player and an expiring contract).
EDIT: A GREAT trade by Dumars. _________________

From what they are saying no, but it is the same as what 1K said. So likely for sure. _________________

EDIT: A GREAT trade by Dumars. | Mixed feelings right now. Bynum has been doing great in the back-up PG role, and has outstanding chemistry with Drummond.

I laughed at what they are saying on the radio.
GREAT trade! Who are we getting?

Calderon can play off-ball, when he and Lowry played together for TOR Calderon was the off-guard. Knight can also play off-ball. I wouldn't rule out a future trade moving Bynum either.
Knight/Calderon/Bynum
Stuckey
is basically our back court depth chart now that I assume Singler will slide over and start at his natural SF position. _________________

Dumars finally does something and kills it. This is an outstanding trade for the Pistons.
We need a SF now though. Jerebko, Singler aren't gonna cut it. Feel Joe has another guy he's gonna go after soon. _________________

We still have Maggette too.
Maybe the rookie from TAMU gets a shot to see what he has. Maybe CV plays some SF too.
But I wouldn't be surprised if we made another deal or two down the line either. _________________

Jose Calderon is possibly the worst defender I've ever seen in my life. Personally, I'd rather have Bynum seeing the tremendous chemistry he has with Drummond, and knowing he's bought in to being a pass-first PG.
I can see Calderon sticking out like a sore thumb, just like Delphino. _________________ Are you getting Ziggy with it? |

Sounds official now.
29mill free this offseason, what can we do with it? Dumars is after that superstar IMO and we will never get one in Detroit unless we draft one IMO. _________________

Joe is placing this team in the position it needs to be, knowing how the game is played in today's NBA landscape. We could land a star caliber player via trade (team looking to rebuild and dump salary); or we could go after both Josh Smith and OJ Mayo, with this much cash. _________________ Are you getting Ziggy with it? |

Ya that was kind of what I was getting at. We got the cash to bring in that Kobe player on a max, but just not the market or team to entice him. Imagine the D if Joe was able to though. _________________

I love this trade as well. Calderon is a poor mans steve nash and may be better than nash at this point. Guy is a guaranteed 10 assists 10 points a game. He can really make your offense better. Poor defender but thats why we have drummond.
Hes probably gone if his contract is done at the end of the season but this frees us up to sign some players. Problem is we are never going to sign an elite talent. Cause no stars want to come to detroit.
Look for more ben gordon charlie V type of signing and more mediocrity for the years to come. |

We can land a star via trade as well fellas, there's more than one way to get'er done. _________________ Are you getting Ziggy with it? |
