Guy was a complete monster tonight. Moved the chains, GOT SOME YAC, and stretched the field and won downfield.
With Welker, Hernandez, Gronk and Lloyd playing at that level, this offense is going to be impossible to stop if we get that kind of play out of him without throwing to him 20 times a gam. _________________

This was a huge test for him. If you blanket Welker and Hernandez/Gronk, can Lloyd win the one on one? He clearly showed us that he can come through if needed. |

That's what I'm excited about.
2009 we saw if you stopped Welker/Moss we were cooked
2010 we saw if you just flooded the middle and put 8 in the box with zone we were cooked
2011 we saw that without Gronk if you took Welker/Hernandez out we were cooked
2012 you double Welker/Gronk and we have Hernandez/Lloyd who can both win anywhere on the field in one on one coverage.
It's just a shame Edelman/Gronk/Hernandez had never gotten a chance to really work together while healthy. This offense is already special, but with 5 quality receivers we could have been something otherworldly.
EDIT:
Think of it this way.
Take Fells/Homanamuniwawawaeeoo/Branch and replace all their production and snaps with Gornkowski. I think they did a pretty decent job for us but lets be honest. They were in there with the notion "don't lose the game for us". Gronkowski is a whole other animal and wins games for us by himself. _________________

Hes been better but he does continue to drop an easy pass at least once a game. |

At this point in the season he's dropped less balls than Welker or Hernandez. |

Seems like Gronkowski, Hernandez and Welker have all had that problem. |

I suspect guys usually have to get acclimated a bit to catching Brady's throws over the middle. He throws those HARD. _________________

Brandon Lloyd has really become a good weapon and deep threat that eats one on one coverage. Not only that, but he seems to read different coverages really really well... The guy knows how to get open.. |

Hernandez, Gronkowski and Welker should all be used to it by now though. |

^That doesn't make it much easier. Lloyd has dropped the easiest passes, but WW has to have the most drops.
As players get older, it takes more out of them to do the same things physically & they cannot concentrate n that catch as well. Seems like WW problem. _________________ A sunny disposition is worth more than fortune. Seems like every year there's a new excuse for Welker.
How about he just doesn't have great hands? They're not bad, but other than in 2007, he has never been the most sure handed guy.
It's also due to the high volume of balls thrown his way but he definitely seems to have had a tendency to let the ball come into his body/face more than he used to. Could just be that his drops tend to come at the most inopportune times (probably due to him being the go-to guy in big situations) so I'm remembering those more than his others.
Lloyd just seems to have balls go through his hands and Hernandez seems to have butter fingers/bad focus (trying to run before he has the ball securely). |

Great group of guys, their hands will become solid by playoff time. I'm almost certain of it. Something about this season feel good to me this time around. |

Their hands will magically improve as the weather worsens and the pressure builds?
Hmm.....dunno about that. |
