|I could pull you gifs of all the best throws of Ryan Lindley and make him look like a complete and utter all-pro lock.
Essentially, while that article is pretty good and showcases a lot of the great things that Geno can do it also does the worst thing you can do as an evaluator of quarterbacks and that is ignore flaws.
I have zero issues with Geno Smith being the #1 rated QB on peoples boards, heck I have him neck and neck with Wilson, but like Wilson more because of the willingness to take a shot and deliver a perfect ball at the same time.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdn-8OyRU30 This is one of the worst games I have evaluated of Tyler Wilson, if you watch from 3 minutes to four minutes you can see multiple poor reads and bad throws.
It also shows some very good parts of his game too; 4:30 to 4:50 you see three plays that show poise, progressions, quick release and accurate throws.
The Throw he makes at the 1:57 mark is amazing. Stands tall in the pocket, knows he is going to take a shot holds on for the extra millisecond to make sure his guy gets open and just before he takes a huge shot he drops a 40 yard dime into the pouch of his receiver for a score.
Watch the first play of that video and it gives you an idea of what Wilson can do.
About to get drilled, steps into the throw and makes an accurate throw from the opposite hash from his own 16 caught at the 37, A 20 yard deep comeback from the opposite hash while taking one of the biggest shots you can. Impressive.
Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's
