Hey the title say it...
One of my friends said he read a DA interview somewhere (the said roto maybe, he wasn't sure but I can't find it) where he was talking about Burris and his future. He read that DA plans to train Burris to be our MLB next year and on...
Have anyone seen this interview??
What would you think about it?
While at first I would leave him at OLB...it could work IMO.
He has to work on misstackles anyways...He is around the ball, play most of the time. He has sideline to sideline speed, he seems to be intense and intelligent.
The question for me would be:
-can he improve his tackling, angels enough?
-can he lead, motivate a D?
-can he be a strong enough guy in the middle?
-can he call the plays, read the O, make the sifts?
What do you think? _________________ WIN LOSE OR TIE...RAIDER FAN 'TIL I DIE!!

how often does a dude improve his tackling and angles when he gets to the nfl? usually they either have that ability or they don't.
2010 NFL Draft should have went
1. Jason Pierre-Paul
2. Sean Lee
I heard Al Davis was high on Sean Lee, and mind you, the one, raw athletic freak he passes on turns out to be a star.
As for Miles Burris I think he can play MLB, I don't think he will ever be elite though. _________________

Someone already brought this up. I say no.
He's still learning how to be an all around LB. He did nothing but play at the LOS at SDSU in their 3-3-5 Defense. Can't put a guy who can barely play OLB as the playcaller of the defense. Wheeler didn't do much as the playcaller. Our D was getting destroyed by bad running teams. Get a guy who has experience calling a defense. I like Gaither as a backup though. _________________

I've thought about it. I think he could do it but it would take a while for him to adjust _________________

It would really be nice to know a is McClain going to get another year here? b are we going to try and make the move to a 3-4? |

He doesn't have the speed for it IMO. He's an improvement over McClain easily... but then again anyone would be. _________________ (MLB)=A's, (NFL)=Raiders, (NBA)= Warriors

Those were not supposed to be smiley faces. Guess I better be careful with my parenthesis. |

I think his ceiling is much higher at OLB. Which is the reason I hope they keep him there. Although I wouldn't mind if he was used as a stop-gap at MLB next year in the case that we can't find a solution there. _________________ Bah-Weep-Granah-Weep-Nini-Bong

This is how I feel overall. As Tibo agreed, I think he can do it. But I think he'd be better served to maximize his potential at OLB. I kinda wonder what would have happened had Curry stayed healthy. Like, did Allen see Burris as a MLB originally? _________________

Miles Burris should be a very solid role playing linebacker for us for a long time. While I see him at his best as a 4-3 SLB he's good depth at all three 4-3 & 3-4 linebacker spots imo. He's never going to be a superstar but he'll more than likely be a really good role playing linebacker for a long time in the NFL. _________________

Wasn't Urlacler a DL at New Mexico. Burris is athletic enough to be a catch-all stopgap at any of the LB positions as the organization improves the quality of depth at the LB position. Hopefully Burris will only hold down the position for one season as the Raiders draft Mauti and he's gets healthy for 2014. _________________ 2013 Mancrush: DT Richardson, OT Joeckel, FS Vaccaro, FS Rambo, WR Dobson, RB Michael, TE McDonald, OT Foketi, WR Swope |

| I heard Allen say it. He said they would look into it. He said MLB is one of the teams biggest needs going into the offseason. |

Between this and talks in Oakland about the Defense trying to find leadership, Te'o is going to get a hard look from the staff is my guess. _________________
