If we let Palmer go I'd rather look for a cheaper and younger alternative. Maybe someone like Matt Flynn, Alex Smith, Drew Stanton, or Jason Campbell.

No, that was Vick |
While that's true I still think it was dumb for a coach to try and take a player out of his element. Vick isn't a smart QB, he's fast and has a cannon, should adjust your offense around that not force the guy to make adjustments and short yardage timed throws.

This all day. The worst thing that Vick could be in is the West Coast offense again especially under the unimaginative Knapp
Vick would be better off sitting out of football for a year than being in that offense again
That's why Vick needs to take a paycut to get in an offense designed by Chip Kelly or some true innovator that may emulate the success of the Pistol offense |

It's even worse when you have historical context on why the West Coast Offense was invented
It was invented out of necessity for a QB who couldn't stretch the field vertically and extend plays
There are several other Qbs that type of offense could ruin like say Ben Roethlisberger |
