Would love him as Titans DC but I imagine, he'll get a HC gig somewhere. _________________

That's preposterous. No one else got Lovie fired but himself. Bears were in an excellent position to make the playoffs after starting 7-1. I would say huge blunders in games against the Seahwaks and Vikings cost him his job more than anything else. _________________

Lovie Smith is just a victim of his roster and circumstances like most of these coaches. The guy can coach. A couple of roster changes and this team could be playoff bound next year. _________________

Rolling with Tice cost him his job point blank. | Yep, sad thing it was a universally lauded move. No one in their right mind would have guessed that an OL coach who had been a run game coordinator in his most recent job, would simply refuse to run the football. _________________

Completely off base. Since their Super Bowl appearance, Lovie Smith was 52-44 with only an NFC Championship to show for it in 2010. He was an average coach who underachieved with the Bears. _________________

Bears effed up...bad. I'd happily take Lovie back in STL as DC. The man is getting fired because of the Bears drafting mistakes on offense.
Lovie, come back to STL as DC...you can bring in 2 safeties this off-season to run your C-2 and Laurinaitis is a great C-2 MLB.
Bears will regret this move unless they come away with a guy like Ray Horton or Greg Roman or Jay Gruden imo. _________________

people can defend lovie til they are blue in the face with their excuses about how he is a good coach and it was the offensive line but the bottom line is this. If you lose 7 of the last 8 games against your supposed "rival", miss the playoffs 5 of the last 6 seasons, and coach the only team in the last 20 years to go 7-1 and miss the playoffs you deserve to be fired, period. _________________

Seriously. That Bears team was a contender year in and year out despite always having a questionable offense...and Lovie wasn't the guy to blame for the offense. _________________

I mentioned it in the Bears forum and I'll repeat it here. Lovie Smith has the exact same win % as Tony Dungy did when they fired him. _________________

The Bears were 10-6 weren't they? I don't get how you fire a coach that goes 10-6. If the Bears had a decent OL they'd probably have been 12-4. You can only do so much through coaching; can't change talent. _________________

Didnt Marty get fired in SD after going 14-2 or something? Would LOVE him in Oakland, but that will never happen unless Allen is canned... and it wont happen this year. _________________ First jersey purchased: Jamarcus Russell.
