what's weird is that a lot of people thought the Cam Newton pick would end up costing Rivera his job, but as it stands, the Cam Newton pick is the only reason he hasn't been canned yet.

eh dont really. The defensive under the Rivera era has been far more impressive. |

Not sure it's the right move, but I would like Rivera as DC. _________________

I dont think Rivera ends up getting fired and if he does, Chip Kelly will be the coach. But Rivera has improved us over the past 2 seasons, statistically we had the number 10 defense this year, and thats without Jon Beason,Chris Gamble, and anything resembling a decent FS. Personally I'd give him one more season _________________

I hope we keep him. He showed improvement as the season wore on. Which is all I wanted to see. The season started out horrible and I think he and Chud tried to get way too cute with the playcalling. But they saw it wasnt working and adjusted, with solid results down the stretch. We ended the season with momentum. The players seem to like and respect him. So now isnt the time to change things. _________________

Rivera meeting with the owner about his future.
I don't think it'd be smart to fire him. Chip seems to be off the board, might as well keep Rivera. Seems to be improving. _________________

That is a very smart move. Carolina showed a lot of improvement at the end of the season. Hopefully they can build on that.
Build on what you got. Lay down the foundation and play some competitive football. Maybe Carolina turns the corner this year. _________________

It's official he's staying. However, this year the Panthers must make the next step. It's playoffs or bust for me. _________________

Don't understand tis when they haven't even hired a GM yet. The new GM can still pick his own coach. _________________

Bad decision. Meaningless games down the stretch are the reason he stayed. Moral victories of "getting better" should be overshadowed by his lack of winning close games or beating good teams. I have no expectations for this season. _________________
