How many recoveries did the Pats have? Forcing fumbles is nice but if you can't recover them, that stat is kinda useless.
That SB game...ugh. I believe we forced 4 fumbles and recovered none of them. _________________ "Let's show some toughness. Yeah...Toughness and go makes some plays"

Recovering the ball is often random... forcing fumbles is a skill. _________________

Which is why, while it's impressive, it's tough to project it as making a difference in the playoffs.
Obviously, the more fumbles the team forces, the higher the likelihood that they will recover one.
Teams which are very dependent upon turnovers are very boom/bust in the playoffs. The sample size goes from small to tiny and you're (generally) playing teams which are more protective of the ball. |

ESPN has the Pats at 21 fumble takeaways, with 5 coming against the Jets alone . So it's a 50% recovery rate, which is reasonable. So yes, the more the better.
Considering the correlation between turnover differential and wins, and Tom Brady's knack for minimizing turnovers, It's a huge stat. _________________ 2012 Adopt-A-Patriot: Wes Welker
