Everybody assumed San Diego but supposedly SD didn't want to give any GM duties to Reid at all. Not sure about Arizona although it looks like they will hire a GM as well but who knows how much input Reid will have on personnel. |
I still don't understand why people thought Reid was going to be SD. After Norv, bringing a recent flameout with Andy's baggage just wouldn't fly with the fan-base. |

Looks like everyone will be above .500 in the NFC West next year.
From worst to best division in 2,3 years.
And about Heckert, he loaded the Browns with talent(they threw some games away and missed their best player for 4 games, can win AFC north next yr), can do the same with the Cards.

Ray Horton will interview w/ Cardinals tonight. That will satisfy Rooney Rule requirement. Widespread reports Andy Reid likely to be hired. |
I'd be pissed if I was Horton. Don't even get a real shot even though you've done a great job. _________________

Can't. Not unless Reid makes the change himself, which is anyone's guess. _________________

I hope so. I'm not a fan of Reid at all. He's also a terrible fit for Buffalo. _________________ If life is beating you down just think, "Hey, atleast I'm not a Bills fan" |

Hope Horton sticks as DC, and Reid can build that OL. _________________

Yep. Horton deserves one.

Sucks but Ray knows the process. That's what the Rams did to him last year, even though he nailed the interview and changed some minds he was only called in there to satisfy the Rooney Rule.
He might have to DC 1 more year (It'd still only be his 3rd) but he'll get one sooner rather than later. _________________

Arizona sources now also saying that Heckert isn't in consideration for the general manager job. _________________

Really hoping Ray Horton gets a HC gig now. I would hate to see that Cardinals team with a Reid offense and Horton defense. Dude definitely deserves the promotion after consistently overachieving with the players he's been provided.
I like this move for two reasons (as a Seahawks fan):
1. Very likely that Horton will be leaving and
2. Reid loves to throw the ball and our pass defense loves offenses that throw the ball
This makes sense after what we saw Fisher do with the Rams. Hopefully Reid will get a good GM alongside him and they can build that team with their identity. Presuming Horton leaves, will the Cards switch to a 4-3 defense? I don't think Reid has ever coached a 3-4 defense, but the Cardinals best players on that side of the ball are a great fit for what they currently run.
Also hoping that they sign Michael Vick and trade Kolb
Kolb: "Andy, why won't you loooove me!?"
Also, I'd love to watch Vick play my team twice a year because I love him. _________________

Yes and no. The Rams were planning to hire Fisher but Fisher hadn't committed to them. Horton blew them away and would have gotten the job if Fisher chose Miami. He had a shot. This time, he doesn't. Not THAT different but I still feel it's somewhat different. _________________

Flameout? Reid just got done coaching 14 seasons in Philly, with 9 playoff appearances. He's had a couple bad seasons to end on but prior to those he's won a lot of games. He needs a good defensive coordinator along with him.
What has San Diego done lately? _________________
