Mind you, Carson played 2 less games than a lot of these QBs. I think it'd be safe to say that if he played those last two games, he'd be the leader for dropped passes.
Regardless, just something for a quick comparison and so you can see how he stacks up to the rest of the competition. And for some of you, please note that the W/L record is not included b/c that is not a QB stat. _________________

He could also rank higher in the over thrown, under thrown, or bad pass category as well.
And dang Brady has 104 "Bad passes"?
This stat also says Andrew Luck is the worst QB in the league...
And stafford leads in dropped passes?
No wonder Megatron broke the record no one else on that team can catch. Lol |

Stafford also broke the NFL record for pass attempts so that should be factored in (drops per attempt if you like). _________________

Due to the nature of a %, we would assume his bad pass % would not increase |

Trust me, this aren't things to lean on, just giving it for thought.
Drops are not Carson's fault. He cannot control those much like I would like to think these over, under, and "bad pass" categories don't take into account the lack of running game and offensive line problems. Not saying all his passes are a result of pressure or what-not, but to say that it isn't a factor would be naive. It's just a manner of how much of a factor it is.
That said, we must also consider this when talking about Luck. I don't think this says he was the worst QB in the league but that his stats weren't the best. This, again, should be taken w/ a grain of salt as they had a no running game and no offensive line also.
I also want to know what qualifies a "bad pass". I've watched a lot of Brady this season and I'm not seeing what they're counting so I'm pretty curious. _________________

I don't think anyone can deny CP isn't bad. Let's get some TD per QTR stats, or third down % stats though. Knapp or not, he was ineffective.

Having a running game as ineffective as ours is the biggest reason why we statistically suffered in both of those categories. Greg Knapp's offense is supposed to revolve around a strong rushing attack and being able to run play-action. And that's how the talent on our offense should be used. So asking Palmer to throw as much as we did with both the coaching and talent we have was a recipe for disaster. You can't just ignore that. _________________

Brees, Rodgers, and Brady have never had much of a running game and they've done outstanding.
I get that that's a bad comparison though since, as you said, Knapp's offense is run/PA based.
However when you pay a QB the kind of money we are it's hard to be content with his play. _________________

Sean Peyton, Mike McCarthy, and Josh McDaniels are all highly respected, passing game geniuses. _________________

I think it's unfair to compare Palmer to them though b/c they are on a completely different level and always have been. Factor in your second line and there's really no reason he could have succeeded. Very few QBs would have succeeded here.
I get the money thing but that's out of our control. I'm sure if he's retained, there could be another look at getting some work done on it similar to what happened this season. _________________

Thanks for the stats JTagg.
This shows how poorly DHB and Moore played this year. A huge dropoff from last year's production and efficiency. I suppose Knapp could be blamed but the bottom line is that we need the WR's to play better. _________________ (MLB)=A's, (NFL)=Raiders, (NBA)= Warriors

Yes thanks JTagg, do you have those stats for last year. Palmer/Campbell?
Interested to see if there were more drops this season. I feel like there was personally. |
