| Quote: | | A source with knowledge of Jets contracts told TheJetsBlog Saturday that the deal for the current Director of Player Personnel in San Francisco looks to be around three or four years depending on an option clause and could be worth in the neighborhood of $2-3 million per year. Gamble is in the New York area today meeting with the Jets and has already cancelled his next interview which was set with the Jaguars. |

Hard to tell who does what since I'm not in the room. But he has a lot of respect around the league. Good hire. _________________

It appears that he most likely will be the guy, but they can't officially hire him until after they interview Marc Ross to fullfill the Rooney rule.

They should get rid of the Rooney rule. It's nothing but a joke nowadays. I feel bad for guys like Ross who go into those interviews knowing they don't mean anything. It's insulting to them really. _________________

Agreed. The Rooney Rule is a joke. There's no need for it anymore. KC is pretty smart. Their first HC interview satisfied the Rooney Rule and now their first GM interview will satisfy it as well. _________________

Gamble been a hot name lately, good hire. Let's see how he works with Woody Johnson/Rex. _________________

Good hire, I think Gamble is a good choice and a step in the right direction. _________________

Thats the one reason I hate the Rooney rule.
If a team is sold on who they want, why do they need to interview others? Just to waste their time? _________________

If I remember correctly, Ross was contacted at the same time if not before Gamble. _________________
