Somehow this doesn't surprise me. I don't feel particularly comfortable with Lovie Still being on the market and the Chargers having "interest" considering his likelihood for wanting to force his scheme. But I can see the sense for Buffalo wanting to revitalize their offense and coach up a new, franchise QB.
Let the Ryan Nassib to Buffalo rumors start! _________________

I'm more concerned with what you're doing on at this hour. I have the defense that it's only 2:30AM PST. Flux... do you sleep? _________________

Don't really get it. You'd think they'd want someone a little more sure-fire like Lovie. _________________

I'm in the CST so I have no excuse other than I'm on break still
Typically, I've been sleeping from ~3-5 am to ~10am-noon.
I have my alarm set for 11 so I don't miss the games doe _________________

I kind of get it. Typically you rarely see a team go from offensive coach to offensive coach, historically. But with Lovie, when has he ever developed a QB. He had to trade for Cutler because they kept trying and trying in Chicago and could never get the right one. Blame the former GM all you want, but at some point a HC can take a stand.
Marone is marketable in northern NY, have to remember Buffalo just went under a new "managing owner/director/CEO" who is likely looking for a long-term coach/owner pairing, and Marrone features an offensive system that lends itself to the talent base presently in Buffalo. _________________

Yes sir. I'm surprised that you remembered that. Just about all (if not all) of the Jaguars subforum remembers that IAS lives in Iowa, but I think most of them forget that I do too _________________

Hate this.
Hate it. Words don't DESCRIBE how much I hate this. We're a joke, and we'll remain a joke. He gets fired in 3 years.
We went "safe" and conservative and went for the no name college coach, AGAIN.
It's ALREADY backfired. How the hell won't it backfire this time? _________________

Moderate, not overwhelming success in college? Check
NFL experience that's alright, not great? Check
Recommendation by current and former NFL coaches? Check
Chosen over proven, big "name" coach that said publicly he'd WELCOME being here? Check.
So far we're 4/4 for exactly how it happened last time. Forgive me for not having faith in the franchise that's done nothing but let me down every year for the past 15 years and appears to be doing the same crap that's lead them to be in this position in the first place. _________________

If I'm a Bills fan I definitely wanted a bigger name than this. _________________

Lovie Smith WANTED to be here...
Give me a few hours to warm up to it I guess. But right now I'm pretty angry at this choice. _________________

I promise you, in about 8 months you'll be grateful they signed Marrone. _________________ Kilroy was here |
