Because Rob Ryan is fired that means we might also be getting a OC. Because there is no way JJ can excuse JG for his playcalling.

It's like JJ and Woody got together and said let's fire everyone but our HC because they are not the problem. Laughing I'm still curious if he has the balls to do to Garrett what he did to Wade by bringing in Norv to call the offense? Replacement lurking again?

Wow. Not a good move.

It's a great move. Did you pay any attention to Dallas's defense? I don't see what Rob Ryan has done to get any hype. Their scheme sucked last year imo and they got worked over. Yea, they had injuries but they were an average unit in 2011 as well.

Other than being hilarious for his image as a fat pirate on the sideline, I don't think Rob did anything noteworthy with the Cowboys.

It's a great move if they hire a good DC.

Well, I suppose worse comes to worse the Bucs can always hire him as a new mascot. Very Happy

Ehhh. I don't think the NFL will like that...bad image for their Play60 program. Can't have kids thinking being a fat pirate is acceptable. Skinny pirate...yes. Fat pirate...no.

To be fair, 4 months in that Florida humidity and he'd probably sweat off a small lake. Might not come out "skinny" but he might downgrade to "husky".

A husky pirate is more acceptable.

Here were my thoughts from the Cowboys forum:

Quote:
I still dont know how I feel about this. My initial reaction is that I hate it. I liked Rob, he was inspiring. I thought he could really do some damage if given the time.

On the flipside, I hated that he didnt play any press coverage or blitz after we had some injuries. We played terribly vanilla the second half of the season. And we werent exotic to begin with. The substitution issues also bothered me - though I attributed that to the injuries more than Ryan himself.

If we do move to a 4-3; I will be more comfortable with it. Or if we hire Crennel.

Surprising he falls on the sword and takes the blame, for Cowboys problems. Jerry had to do something but was the defensive scheme really the problem?

I thought offensive turnovers and the lack of a running game was more the problem.

There's a good chance the Cowboys will be switching to a 4-3 defense.

Your QB continues to screw up; so you start firing coaches? Seems legit.

Does Rob Ryan run a 4-3 or a 3-4? Also, how does he run his defense? Is he a heavy blitzer? I feel like he runs a 3-4 but not positive.

Sad to say it, but if by chance Rob runs a 4-3, he might be a guy I'd like the Bills to take a look at for DC. He bleeds cockiness and arrogance but he's passionate, aggressive, and clearly enjoys the spotlight and we could use something new, something different, some emotion on the sidelines. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he seems like the type of guy that can help get his team fired up. His defenses haven't generally been that bad.

.... No, not really. Romo continually blows it when the team needs him the most. Romo is easily the biggest choker in the NFL. He's clearly the problem.

this topic has nothing to do with Romo troll give it a rest. fact is Ryan's scheme was picked apart this year just as it has in it's previous spots where he's been DC and failed. Save the romo talk for another thread

While your statement is true, this thread is about Rob Ryan being fired so we should stick to that topic. But believe me, there are a lot of us who want to dump both Romo and Garrett; Romo for being a choke artist in big games and Garrett for being utterly incompetent as a head coach.
